Review: Rome by Jay Crownover {Giveaway}

HAPPY RELEASE DAY TO JAY CROWNOVER!!!

Sometimes the wrong choice can be just right . . .

Fun and fearless, Cora Lewis knows how to keep her tattooed "bad boy" friends at the Marked in line. But beneath all that flash and sass is a broken heart. Cora won't let herself get burned again. She's waiting to fall in love with the perfect man—a baggage-free, drama-free guy ready for commitment. Then she meets Rome Archer.

Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He's stubborn, rigid, and bossy. And he's returned from his final tour of duty more than a little broken. Rome's used to filling many roles: big brother, doting son, supersoldier—but none of those fit anymore. Now he's just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the dark demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer through it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes a blinding flash of color in a sea of gray.Perfect may not be in the cards, but perfectly imperfect could just last forever . . .

I absolutely love this series!

One of my favorite things about Jay Crownover's MARKED MEN series is that you can seriously connect with every single character. I feel like I know them personally. This has not changed in ANY of the books in the series, so far. I don't know what I am going to do with myself when the series comes to an end.

I enjoyed Rome a lot. I loved watching him and Rule reconnect and patch things up a bit with their mother and father. Throughout the series it's known that they are struggling and dealing with the aftermath of their brother Remy's secret. All that is revealed in Rule's book -- first in the series. I loved how Cora stepped in for her man and did everything she could to help him overcome his personal demons. Not only was Rome dealing with his brother Remy's secret, but also everything that happened to him in the military.

I did have a slight issue with how fast everything moved between Cora and Rome. I understand they've known each other for a long time, but I would have liked a little more interaction between them before their lives flipped upside down. Once I got past that though, my heart melted for the both of them. They were perfect for each other.

This series will always be my favorite and always my top pick for recommendations. While reading you will burst out laughing, blush, want to scream, and crave more by the ending. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

A Good Choice for Reading ;)

I’m a native Coloradoan and if you live here you know why that is a source of pride. I love all the things Colorado has to offer and that is why I choose to set my books in this familiar setting. I try to write about things I know and am familiar with which is why my stories feature plenty of rock and roll and body modification.

I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and I spend over forty hours a week watching the interaction between men and women in a unique way. I think my 9 to 5 job offers me valuable insights into how relationships start and evolve in a social setting. I love it.

I like to write New Adult novels because I remember being in my early twenties and thinking I had it all figured out only to be proven wrong time and time again. When I look back those were the years that defined who I am today, and good or bad those decisions untimely set me on my current path, so that’s what I like to explore in my writing.
