Falling For You Blog Tour - Guest Post & Giveaway!

In Falling For You, Rae meets an elderly woman named Ella who worked as a librarian.

At one point, Ella quotes a poem and then goes on to tell her about her favorite poet.

When I was working on the book, I originally had Ella's favorite poet as Emily Dickinson,
but when it went to copy edits, the editor asked if her poems were in the public domain.
They are so old, I thought they had to have been, but when I went to make sure, I was
horrified to learn most of them are not! So I had to do some scrambling and change the poet
along with the poems I referenced in my book.

While researching, I came across a poet named Sara Teasdale, and the more I read,
the more I loved her work and knew she was the right person for the job.

Recently, I found one of her poetry books on e-bay for an affordable price, and knew I
had to have it. It is in really good condition and I just adore it!!

When I think back to all the frustration I felt at the time about having to change
so much of the text because of the copyright issue, I'm actually grateful, because
I feel like I have a new friend in Sara Teasdale.

One of the poems quoted in the book is "The Coin" which you can read here.

Nice, huh?

Rae's always dreamed of dating a guy like Nathan. He’s nothing like her abusive stepfather—in other words, he’s sweet. But the closer they get, the more Nathan wants of her time, of her love, of her...and the less she wants to give.

As Rae’s affection for Nathan turns to fear, she leans on her friend Leo for support. With Leo, she feels lighter, happier. And possessive Nathan becomes jealous.

Then a tragedy lands Rae in the ICU. Now, hovering between life and death, Rae must find the light amid the darkness…and the strength to fight for life and the love she deserves.
