GCR Book News: The Shining / GCR Launchs a New Site!

This Saturday we'd like to share three pieces of news for you....

SEQUEL TO THE SHINING!
Stephen King wrote The Shining in 1977 and it was adapted into a film in 1980. If you haven't seen it yet, you must live under a rock and it is time to pop that thing in the DVD player and have the daylights scared out of you!

Now, more than three decades later, Stephen King has announced that a sequel to The Shining will be released on September 24, 2013; the title will Doctor Sleep, a sequel to The Shining.

If you don't know about the book, it's basically about a writer who moves his wife and psychic son, Danny, to this isolated hotel in the mountains where he eventually goes nuts and tries to kill everyone.

The sequel to the book will feature Danny, all grown up, still haunted by his father's legacy and the year he spent in that hotel.

I Am So Ridiculously Excited!!!

  15. Stephen King is one of my favorite authors. I have read and own almost all of his books and movies. With saying that I guess you already know that I have read and watched The Shining more than once. I love Stephen King's books and movies, all of them. I can't wait to read and watch Doctor Sleep the sequel to The Shining. I like the books better because the movies will usually leave out something. Besides that you know what each character is thinking and feeling in the books. I am a BIG Stephen King fan and have been since I was a teenager.
