Cover Love & Discussion: Defiance by C.J. Redwine #Defianceweek


What is the first thought that pops in your head when looking at this cover?


Maria: I noticed the castle underneath her feet - so I'm thinking she's a "princess gone rogue".

Kellie: She is ready to deal with what ever mysterious dangers to come for her and eager for the challenge. Beautiful cover.

Amanda: The cover screams "kick-ass female character". Definitely draws me in.

Debbie: I like that element of the woods behind her, I feel like it will be a dark action packed book.

Shanise: It has an enticing fantasy element that catches the eye!

Wanda: Fierce and ready for battle!

Damaris: My first thought was "ACTION PACKED!" That is all I can say since I did read the book and know the story behind the cover lol. :-)

    I thought the same as Amanda. I did not even see the castle beneath her. Guess I wasn't looking good enough.

    Didn't even see the castle till now! Honestly the woman on this cover is what drew me in from the beginning.

    My first thought of the cover was "she looks "fierce."

    I'm reluctant to admit it, but my first though was of Pixar's BRAVE :P

    But yes! Otherwise I agree with the general sentiment - looks like it's going to be feature a tough lady with a lot of action. Maybe because she looks poised to break into a sprint?

    It took a moment to see that she was in pants...I just saw the "prettiness" of it and thought sorcery and fantasy. But on second glance it looks like it will have some action too.

    I first see the red hair and think of my mom. And she's awesome. So I think the female on the cover, Rachel, is going to be awesome. :D

    I think the cover of Defiance is fantastic, the heroine looks fierce and ready to take on whatever she needs to.

    I love this cover... but I'm always leery of buying just a book b/c of the cover art... gotta get some more reviews in first... but so far they have been very positive :)

    My 11 year old brother pointed the castle out to me... While we looked at the cover on my tiny BlackBerry screen. He loved her hair! :)
