GCR BOOK NEWS!


Hey GoodChoiceReaders!  I've heard some good news and some bad news today that I thought just couldn't wait until Saturday.

First the Good News:

TAHEREH MAFI RELEASES A NEW NOVELLA!
This Fall, Tahereh Mafi, author of Shatter Me has released a new e-book novella titled Destroy Me. The entire work will be written in Warner's perspective. See the video below for Tahereh's announcement. Destroy Me picks up with a pivotal moment in Shatter Me and leads into Unravel Me (expected to be publish in February 2013). The novella is just $2.99 and will be released on October 16th, 2012 along with the paperback version of  Shatter Me.



We Are Massively Excited to Hear This News!! 



And now for the Bad News:
MAURICE SENDAK PASSES AWAY AT THE AGE OF 83
Maurice Sendak, author and illustrator of the hugely popular, Where the Wild Things Are, has passed away today; he was 83 years old. Where the Wild Things Are was released in 1963 and won the prestigious Caldecott Medal. The book was then made into a feature film in 2009.



R.I.P. to Another Great Author and Illustrator Who Has Changed Our Children's Lives for the Better

  1. I know a lot of people are very sad about Maurice Sendak! It is terribly sad, losing such a great inspirational author!

    AND I still REALLLY need to read "Shatter Me"!!

  2. I was so sad when I learned but he has a ton of books as a legacy for more generations to enjoy...I LOVED Little Bear when my daughter was a toddler!
