Deep within the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the battle for supremacy rages on between two vampire coalitions: Guardian enforcers sworn to protect humanity, and Darkbloods, rogues who kill like their ancient ancestors. Original.
Oh Jackson! He has turned out to be my favorite of all the characters we have met so far. In the past books he was painted as a man whore bad boy who took nothing serious. I was unsure as to how I was going to like him. I mean could he really settle down and be serious? So close to reverting can he be saved?
The action in this book is great. I love all the drama of the guardians and the Darkbloods. Seeing both sides and how they tick was a good insight to some of the characters. I love a good romance with a bit of action and drama to keep the mystery going. This book definitely delivers!
Both Arianna and Jackson have issues they need to resolve from their own past, and I loved that we get to hear not only what they went through but how they used it to become who they are. Arianna needed answers so bad and Jackson was able to give them to her to get the closure she needed from her haunted past.

Also, getting more info on the Darkblood's leader was cool to understand why she does what she does, and why she is after and desperate to get back the sweetbloods that got away in the last book.
I've been thinking about giving this series a try for a while now.
ReplyDeleteI think this review just sold it to me. Better start with book 1 asap :-)
