BLOG TOUR: The Pledge by Kimberly Derting

Kimberly Derting is here today with Good Choice Reading and she is going to share a character tweet

************************************************************************

CHARACTER TWEETS

If your characters had twitter accounts, what would the feed look like to someone who followed them? You can use characters from TBF too if you'd like and mix it up. Max of 3 pages double spaced in word.

I went with characters from the Body Finder series since they seemed FAR more likely to know what Twitter is. If anyone needs a refresher on who characters, here’s the breakdown:

Vi4Fun is Violet. (Duh, right?)
OldJay (that one’s kind of obvious too).
TheRealChelsea is Violet’s unfiltered best girl friend.
Clairbear (Claire) tends to be somewhat clueless and naïve.
Jewles (Jules) is a tomboyish jock who doesn’t have much to say. Most of the time.

OldJay: @Vi4Fun OK, I think I got this Twitter thing figured out!

Vi4Fun: @OldJay Told you it wasn’t that hard :p

OldJay: @Vi4Fun Maybe later you ca

OldJay: @Vi4Fun Damn, hit enter too soo

Vi4Fun: @OldJay Problems?

OldJay: @Vi4Fun I got it. Kept hitting enter.

Vi4Fun: @OldJay Now you need some followers. Following anyone?

OldJay: @Vi4Fun Why do I need followers? I’m following you.

OldJay: @Vi4Fun That sounded wrong. Who should I follow?

Vi4Fun: @OldJay What about @TheRealChelsea @Clairbear and @Jewles?

OldJay: @Vi4Fun IDK, aren’t there any *guys* on Twitter???

TheRealChelsea: @OldJay @Vi4Fun Not unless you count @Jewles. She’s practically a dude.

Clairbear: @Vi4Fun @OldJay Hi!

Clairbear: @TheRealChelsea That’s not very nice! @OldJay @Vi4Fun

Vi4Fun: @Clairbear Hi, Claire :)

Jewles: @TheRealChelsea Dude, I saw that. Not cool.

TheRealChelsea: @Jewles Wasn’t tryin to hide it ;) Prove me wrong and wear a dress tomorrow.

OldJay: @Vi4Fun Maybe you can come by later. We can do *homework* ;)

TheRealChelsea: @OldJay You know that wasn’t a DM or anything, right?

TheRealChelsea: You’re boyfriend’s a perv! RT@OldJay: @Vi4Fun Maybe you can come by later. We can do *homework* ;)

Vi4Fun: @OldJay You have to send a Direct Message, otherwise everyone can see it.

OldJay: @Vi4Fun I officially hate twitter. See u later, Vi.

TheRealChelsea: @OldJay @Vi4Fun @Clairbear @Jewles AHAHAHA!!!! Chasing the guys off twitter: priceless

That was a lot of fun to read! Thank you Kimberly for sharing this with us!

About The Pledge:

The Pledge
Publication: November 15th 2011
By: Margaret K. McElderry
ISBN: 1442422017

Words are the most dangerous weapon of all.
In the violent country of Ludania, the classes are strictly divided by the language they speak. The smallest transgression, like looking a member of a higher class in the eye while they are speaking their native tongue, results in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina has always been able to understand the languages of all classes, and she’s spent her life trying to hide her secret. The only place she can really be free is the drug-fueled underground clubs where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. It's there that she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy named Max who speaks a language she's never heard before . . . and her secret is almost exposed.
Charlie is intensely attracted to Max, even though she can’t be sure where his real loyalties lie. As the emergency drills give way to real crisis and the violence escalates, it becomes clear that Charlie is the key to something much bigger: her country’s only chance for freedom from the terrible power of a deadly regime.
