THURSDAY'S QUESTION OF THE DAY
So, recently, I noticed that some of my absolute favorite books also happen to be really short! Well...short to me is only about 100 pages or so, lol. The book I am currently reading, Blood (which is really good, by the way) has about 250 pgs, so I think that's pretty typical.
But I started to wonder...when was the last time I sat down and read a really long book? I think, for me, it was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. And I probably read it in about a day, lol.
Today's Question of the Day: What is the longest book you've ever read? And how long did it take you to read it?
LET ME KNOW!!!!

I think the longest is probably The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Great book. It took me a week to read it. It's about 900 pages long.

Under the Dome by Stephen King. And it took me 3 days. I loved that book. So much. Every single word. 1072 pages of brilliance.
ReplyDeleteDiana Gabaldon's A Breath of Snow and Ashes. It's 1158 pages and if I remember correctly it took me about 5-6 days. I loved the whole series.
ReplyDeleteGone with the Wind, it took me forever to read it but I enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteWOW....um, honestly my very first BIG BIG book was Breaking Dawn. lol
ReplyDeleteOver 1000 pages Under the Dome by Stephen King. Toke me a couple months. I am a slow reader. LOL. I did not care for that book.
ReplyDeleteI think that would have to be Battlefield Earth at 1050 pages; I read it in 2.5 days. =)

The Haunting of Orchid Forsythia
I think it was called White Witch...found it in junior high in the library - I don't even know how long it was I just remember it was hardback and weighed a ton. Gosh I need to find that thing again!
ReplyDeletePs - I had that library book checked out for two years before I returned it - but hey I did return it!
ReplyDeleteThe re-released full version of The Stand by Stephen King - I think it was over 1000 pages. I'm thinking it took me over a week, but that was in the summer back in college I was working and had a boyfriend, so you know not much time. I have much more time with work and a family ;)
ReplyDeleteThe Wheel of Time series first book. Was 814 pages. Took me two weeks to read not because it was to long, but that it was freaking slow and boring. Ugh! :P
ReplyDeleteI read Atlas Shrugged a couple of years ago. Weighing in at 1168 pages, it is the longest book I've read. I finished it in about a month, it can be quite philosophical.
ReplyDeleteThe Sword of Truth book #2 (Stone of Tears) was 979 pages.
The longest book I've read would be A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth (1350 pages). I can't remember how long it took me.
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm reading A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin and it's 1000 pages. It's taking me longer because I keep reading other books in between.
