Then, onto some sad news: the Atlanta Book Exchange has closed its doors after 35 Years of Book-Selling :(
After 35 years of buying and selling used books, the Atlanta Book Exchange closed its doors on Tuesday, July 5. The Book Exchange inhabited three different locations throughout its lifetime.
Cherished as an old-school, in-town antidote to the big-box booksellers, the Book Exchange was known for crowded shelves and narrow aisles, but also comfy reading nooks and caring booksellers, like the late Jim Degnan and owner Charles Henson.
According to reports from hyperlocal news blog Patch.com, an “eco-friendly boutique” will be opening in the Book Exchange location in time for Labor Day.
Mario Lopez writes a Children's Book
Celebra Children's Books announced Thursday that Lopez's new book, "Mario and Baby Gia," will come out Sept. 27. The book is named for Lopez's infant daughter, Gia Francesca.

The Secret Circle by L.J. Smith Picked up by The CW
This is a bit late, but on May 18th it was announced on authors L.J. Smith's blog that her series The Secret Circle's pilot was picked up by The CW. Personally, we're really excited about this. I think they've done a great job with The Vampire Diaries and I am really excited to see how they bring the books to life. Plus, we're huge fans of witches here on Good Choice Reading.
