Fantasy Movie Cast
Trevor Isaacs - would be played by Jason Drucker (the newest Greg Heffley in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid films) There’s something about the kids cast in the Wimpy Kids films. They’re so confident and yet bumbling. It’s the perfect combination for someone playing Trevor who has natural confidence, but makes a ton of mistakes.
Devin Drobbs - would be played by Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair in Stranger Things). I love his attitude and toughness in that show. He’s stubborn too and Devin has to be one of the most stubborn characters I have ever written.
Nika Pushkin – In a perfect world where I could pick anyone to play this part, I would’ve selected Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper on the Wonder Years show back in the 80’s.) I based Nika off of her, but of course, Danica is much older now and would have a hard time pulling off the 12-year-old girl from Russia. So instead, it would have to be Olivia Rodrigo who stars in American Girl – Grace Stirs up Success.
Cameron Kiffing – He’s probably my favorite, just because he’s so unique and obnoxious, yet there’s such an endearing nature about him. I would love for Atticus Shaffer who plays Brick Heck on The Middle to take on the role of Cameron. He’s hilarious in that show and would be the perfect fit as Cameron.
Doug Castleton – Definitely Owen Wilson! I envisioned Owen, who’s one of my favorite actors, as Doug from the very beginning.
