What happens when your plus one becomes “the one”?
Holly Haggerty and Roth Esterly are two besties with everything in common—they’re neighbors, career-driven, and commitment-phobes. Tired of always being set up on dates by well-meaning friends and family, they take matters into their own hands: they will be the other’s plus one—a little friendly arrangement between friends.
Easy…until a steamy night where they cross the line. But that’s okay, they’ll add an addendum—one that includes a little action between the sheets…on top of the sheets…and without the sheets. But there are rules. Dating and sex are exclusive until one of them decides to terminate the agreement. No slumber parties. And if either party becomes emotionally involved they will break things off with no hard feelings.
When unexpected news changes their plans and turns their fun arrangement into something more serious, Holly and Roth must come to terms with what’s more important—what they thought they wanted, or what they really need.

I have a confession to make.
Are you ready?
Lean in.
I’ve always been a little jealous of other authors who share
their play lists that they listened to when writing a book.
I’m one of those writers who has to work in peace and quiet.
Oh, don’t get me wrong, I love music and wish I could have some tunes filling
the air while I write, but I guess I have a short attention span because if I
do try and have music playing, I get a little side tracked. I’ll start singing,
or I’ll want to get up and move around—as in dancing, which is kind of a scary
sight lol—or I daydream and come up with story ideas from the lyrics as I
picture scenes in my head. Which isn’t bad, but it’s not very good for my
productivity. Lol
But, on the flip-side, I do have an awesome perk when
writing that not all other authors enjoy.
What, you may ask?
I have writing buddies.
Libby, my golden retriever and faithful writing companion
who always lends a soft snore to our quiet writing hours. Smokey, the softest
cat in the world who has a way of staring me down with a stern eye—as if he’s
going to slap a ruler between his paws if I veer off my writing path. I almost
fear taking a break when he’s around. lol
I also have another kitty friend. My pal Chocolate who is 19
years old. He basically just snuggles up beside me and sleeps, and sometimes
gets a little cranky if I move around too much, but his presence is always a
comfort.
So, even though I don’t have awesome lists of songs that I
enjoy listening to, I am lucky to having my furry friends to keep me company J
And, in their own way, they do create a bit of background music as they
grumble, groan, and snore.
How about you? Are you like me and work better in a quiet
solitude, or can you get the task at hand done with background noise?
