Her Unexpected Detour by Kyra Jacobs
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication: September 14th, 2015 by Entangled Publishing
Sometimes it's not the destination, but the detour...
Kayla has the perfect strategy for a broken heart: work, work, and more work. Then a storm sends her car skidding off the road, stranding her in Mount Pleasant. Fortunately, rescue comes in the form of the incredibly handsome but gruff Brent Masterson. And he's hot enough to tempt Kayla into doing something she never thought she could do...
Brent Masterson swore he would never give into the fierce attraction that's been sizzling between him and Kayla since they first met. He has his own demons, and he won't risk his heart again. Not even for someone as gorgeous and amazing as Kayla. So...how exactly did he end up in Kayla's bed last night?
But sometimes all it takes is an ice storm to show two broken hearts the way home...
About the Author
1. Tell us a little about yourself and your latest/upcoming release.
a. Hi everyone! I’m Kyra Jacobs, lifelong native of northeast Indiana. When I’m not outside sprucing up my flower beds or playing sports with my two sons, I’m likely
housework sitting at my laptop going (as my youngest often teases) “type,
type, type”. My latest release, HER UNEXPECTED DETOUR, is a story near and dear
to my heart, and takes place at a fictional bed-and-breakfast a few short hours
north of here in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. This novel is the first in the
Checkerberry Inn series, and is a fun mixture of comedic moments and heartfelt
2. Do you read reviews of your books? What do you do when you read a not-so-nice one?
a. Haha great question. Yeah, guilty as charged. I’ve been warned by longtime author friends to stay away from reviews, but like a bug to the light I just can’t help myself. And while the not-so-nice ones can really sting, I try to put myself in the reviewer’s shoes and see things from their angle. Sometimes they’ll make good points. Other times, I’m kinda left going, “Huh?” Ones like that I just sweep under the mental rug and move on. Of course the great reviews totally make my day, and give me a terrific boost for my WIP’s.
3. What are you working on now?
a. I’m working through revisions on book two in this series, tentatively titled HER UNEXPECTED RETURN. It’s Miles Masterson’s story, and introduces a new, spunky (and jaded about love) heroine named Stephanie Fitzpatrick. The dynamic between the two has been a lot of fun to write. J
4. Can you share a teaser of HER UNEXPECTED DETOUR with our readers?
a. I’d love to!
THIS OR THAT
Ice cream or Sorbet? Ice cream (but I’ll never turn a good sorbet away, either.)
Coffee or Tea? I’m a sucker for Chai Lattes ;-)
Movies at home or Movie Theater? Action movies in the theater, mushy stuff at home. Though, a theater in town now has these digital, leather recliners which makes it FEEL like you’re at home with a giant screen and stereo system. It’s like having the best of both worlds!
Fall or winter? Fall. Love those leaves.
Thank you so much for having me here today!
I would like to thank Kyra for stopping by! Great interview! :)
