Sidney Halston returns to steamy Tarpon Springs, Florida, where a hell-raising bad boy prepares to get down and dirty for the woman he loves.

How could she have been so stupid? When Jessica Cross decides to give her violently jealous boyfriend—the otherwise influential and charming Dennis Stavros—a second chance, she very nearly becomes a statistic. After weeks of healing from a broken rib and collapsed lung, and with Dennis behind bars, Jessica finally feels ready to come out of hiding. But will she ever be able to take a chance on love again with someone new?

Mixed martial arts fighter Slade Martin knows he has a bad reputation. Hell, he's probably earned it. So it won’t be easy to convince beautiful, vulnerable Jessica that she can trust him—that from the moment she walked into his life, she’s been the only one he’s wanted. Powerful and confident, Slade knows he can honor his vow to protect Jessica body and soul. Winning her heart will be another matter . . . but a woman like Jessica is worth the fight.

Interview

Hi Good Choice, thanks for hosting me.

1.       Tell us a little about yourself and your latest/upcoming release.

FULL CONTACT is the 2nd book of the Worth the Fight Series. It is about Slade and Jessica. It is a standalone but the characters from AGAINST THE CAGE (book #1) make lots of cameos. The book takes place in Tarpon Springs, Florida and centers around an MMA gym called Worth the Fight (WtF) Academy. Jessica’s just left an abusive relationship and dirty-talking Slade has been helping her heal. She isn’t ready to start a new relationship, especially with Slade who is a notorious womanizer. The series is very sexy but has a lot of humor. Fans seem to really enjoy the secondary characters and the town as much as the hero and heroine.

2.       Do you read reviews of your books? What do you do when you read a not-so-nice one?

Yes. I do! I’ve read every single review—good and bad. It’s such a nerve wrecking experience.  The highs from the good reviews are exhilarating and the lows from the bad reviews make me want to cry.

I try to take something positive from the bad reviews and usually I do. Bad reviews that are constructive, I can handle. Bad reviews that are just mean, kill me. I know I’m supposed to have tough skin and suck it up, but some readers can be mean and will make personal attacks. I do have to say, one of my favorite reviews ever was a DNF from Against the Cage that said something like: “This book has too much sex, couldn’t finish it.” I love it. I want to post that one everywhere and tell the reviewer—THANK YOU! That’s a five star review in my book (pun intended)

3.      How did you come up with the idea of Full Contact?
Against the Cage was not the original title of the book. It was something else. But, the same month AtC was coming out, another author released a book with the same name! I almost had a heart attack. My editor and I played around with names and then my husband just threw out Against the Cage. I loved it, and so did my editor. Then the Random House team suggested Full Contact and Below the Belt. We wanted a name that went with MMA and fighting and I love it, so we went with those two. We just titled the fourth book. I think this will be the first time I’ve shared it with the world. So, consider this sort of a debut. The fourth book will be titled: LAID OUT. It’s also a fighting term, and again, my husband came up with it.

4.      What's the one piece of technology you can't live without?
There are so many. I think my cell phone is one I can’t live without. I was going to say my Kindle since I always have it on me. But, I also have the Kindle App on my phone and use it all the time. So, I think my phone is a must.

5.      If you could choose one book cover to put on your wall as a poster, what would it be?
Without any doubt, Below the Belt, my third book! Actually, I wanted all the covers up, but they’re shirtless sexy man, I think my kids would ask too many questions.

6.      Do you have a book in your house that's just destroyed because you've read it so much?
I’ve always been a reader. I have read all of Sidney Sheldon’s books countless times. But, I think the book I’ve read the most is Twilight. Well, the entire series. They look like they’ve been through a lot. They’re all tattered. I normally don’t like such tame books. I like a lot more steam. But, those books, did something to me…I read them over and over again.

7.      What are you working on now?
I just finished the edits of Below the Belt (Worth the Fight #3) and am currently working on book #4—Cain and Violet’s story. Fans have been eager to read about these two since book 1.

8.      What scene was your favorite to write?
All the books have a common theme; the camaraderie between the fighters. The scenes where it’s just Slade and Jack talking—whether they’re heartfelt scenes or funny, I loved writing those.

9.      If you could pick a soundtrack to match your main characters life, what would it be?
Right this second it would be Jason Derulo’s Talk Dirty to Me. Hee hee.

About Sidney

USA Today Bestselling author, Sidney Halston lives her life with one simple rule: “Just Do It” Nike.
And that’s exactly what she did. After working hard as an attorney, Sidney picked up a pen for the first time at thirty years old to begin her dream of writing. Having never written anything other than very exciting legal briefs, she found an outlet for her imaginative romantic side and wrote the successful New Adult series, Seeing Red and Seeing Black. That first pen stroke sealed the deal and she fell in love with writing. Currently on sale is the bestselling contemporary romance, Against the Cage and soon to be released Full Contact, the second of the Worth the Fight series.
Sidney lives in South Florida with her husband and children. She loves her family above all else, and reading follows a close second. When she’s not writing you can find her reading and reading and reading…  She’s a reader first and foremost. When she’s not writing or reading her life is complete and utter chaos trying to balance family life with work, and writing (and reading). But she wouldn’t have it any other way., she found an outlet for her imaginative romantic side and wrote Seeing Red, among four other novels currently in the works, including the sequel to Seeing Red. That first pen stroke sealed the deal and she fell in love with writing.
