About Laura

Laura Howard lives in New Hampshire with her husband and four children. Her obsession with books began at the age of 6 when she got her first library card. Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High and other girly novels were routinely devoured in single sittings. Books took a backseat to diapers when she had her first child. It wasn’t until the release of a little novel called Twilight, 8 years later, that she rediscovered her love of fiction. Soon after, her own characters began to make themselves known. The Forgotten Ones is her first published novel.

I read The Forgotten Ones, I didn't write a review, though. I enjoyed it, and I remember thinking that it was a really good start to a fantasy series. I enjoy reading faerie tales, so this seems to be a good fitting series for me.

Now, back to the story I am actually writing this review about. I enjoyed Stone of Destiny. I feel like I'm getting a better picture of the character's, although, I still have a tough time with trying to remember names and who is who. I'm really starting to like Allison, she seems to be getting more comfortable with her lot in life, especially considering that until a couple of months before this part of the story takes place, she had no idea her father wasn't entirely human. She is desperately trying to save her mother, and nothing seems to be easy for her. We get to meet a couple of new character's in this installment. I really love Ethan, I'm glad that Allison has him. I wasn't sure what was going to happen there, considering how the last book ended. Something pretty BIG happens in the end, so we are definitely left with a big ol cliffy, but that just means there is more to come!

All in all, I enjoyed Stone of Destiny. I'm excited to see where the story is going to go. Really good second part in the series.
