Still reeling from the death of her father, Alexandria hopes to find both independence and reprieve from her grief by heading off to college. However, life throws her a serious curveball when she discovers that her roommate isn’t quite the person she had imagined.
Smoking, tattoos, and drag racing for fast cash are Elijah’s only interests. A harsh life has made him apathetic and indifferent, until Alexandria enters his life. When their paths cross, turmoil abounds.
An inevitable encounter, an undeniable attraction, and an unexpected chance at love—will it be enough?

Alex is heading off to college, after her father's death, she needs independence, and a new life. Her cousin, Jimmy, just graduated and told her his old room was available. Ellie will be her roommate. Turns out, Ellie is Elijah, not a girl as Alex was lead to believe. Elijah has gone through some painful things himself, the last thing he needs is to be distracted by Jimmy's cousin.

I would first like to say that I did enjoy this story. There is a lot of tension and angst between Alex and Elijah. That aside, they get along well. They are good roommates, but the attraction could make things difficult at times.

Alex is set on not giving in to her attraction to Elijah. He is a tattooed, smoking, bad boy, plus, she has Liam. I didn't care for Liam, he's kind of a selfish jerkoff. Alex is Jimmy's cousin, and Jimmy is a good friend of Elijah's, he'd never ruin a friendship over a pretty girl. I kept thinking to myself, “Just go for it already! What's the problem?” These two danced around each other most of the time, then there would be a slip up, and after, they would pretend like nothing happened, it was a little bit frustrating. Elijah also leads a secret life, sort of, something else that puts him in the “bad news” category.

Overall, I did enjoy My Clarity. I liked Elijah and Alex together, they had good chemistry and a good connection. The waiting bothered me at times, but, that was the story. I would recommend this book if you like sweeter character's with emotional pains.
