Title: Overcoming Fear
Author: K.F. Breene
Series: Growing Pains book 2
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance
Publication: September 22, 2013
With the shadows of Krista’s past constantly lingering over her, Krista tries to keep herself at a distance from the handsome and effervescent salesman, Sean. The problem is, the more entwined they become working as a team to land the huge client, the closer they inevitably get. Soon Krista can’t help but face the feelings that have grown between them.
Sean doesn’t have a great track record with women. He’s always known how to get them, but keeping them has always been another story. He often jumps in with both feet, gets tangled, and goes running.
It is when each of them finally face their fears, allowing the other in, that the real danger shows itself. Some pasts are harder to ignore than others.
I think Overcoming Fear is
my favorite in this series. For some reason, I love that the story is
in an office setting. I know these are fictional characters, but I
really love their work ethic. Not just Sean and Krista, I love the
whole team. They work together wonderfully, and they have such great
chemistry as characters. Krista also gets to bring her girls in to
help, she has way too much work to do for her to be the only reliable
Research nerd that works.
We also get to learn a bit
about Sean's very own demons in Overcoming Fear, we learn that he is
just a human, after all. Sean and Krista grow much closer as well. I
love their chemistry, I just wish they would stop dancing around each
other and go for it a lot of the time. Sean and Krista have a run in
with Jim, the psycho ex, too. Let's just say that it's not a pleasant
encounter....at all. Jim is not a nice fellow.
Just one little thing I
wasn't all that fond of in this book, the ending. Sure, it did make
sense for the most part, but it made me a touch sad. I think I just seem to have issue with endings period. Obviously that's my problem, nothing to do with authors at all. I knew that
Krista had to do what she had to do, but what is Sean's deal? Yeah, I
can't tell, but I was thinking, “DUDE!! You cannot be serious!” I
loved this book though, I really did. I love this series actually.
I've probably read all three books 3 or 4 times each. I would
definitely recommend Overcoming Fear, but it needs to be read as the
series, it is not a standalone book. Loved it!
Well thank ye kindly ;)
