Now that Nikki has rescued Jack, all she wants is to be with him and graduate high school. But Cole tricked Nikki into feeding off him, and she’s begun the process of turning into an Everliving herself... which means she must feed on a Forfeit soon — or die.
Terrified for her survival, Nikki and Jack begin a desperate attempt to reverse the process using any means possible. Even Cole, who they expected to fight them at every turn, has become an unlikely ally — but how long can it last? Nikki needs to feed on Cole to survive, Cole needs Nikki to gain the throne in the Everneath, Jack needs Nikki because she is everything to him — and together, they must travel back to the Underworld to undo Nikki’s fate and make her mortal once more. But Cole isn’t the only one with plans for Nikki: the Queen has not forgotten Nikki’s treachery, and she wants her destroyed for good. Will Nikki be forced to spend eternity in the Underworld, or does she have what it takes to bring down the Everneath once and for all?
In this stunning conclusion to the Everneath trilogy, Brodi Ashton evokes the resiliency of the human spirit and the indomitable power of true love.

Another series finale full of surprises, emotions and action. After the end of Everbound, I was pretty sure that I was going to die of feels while waiting for the last book of the series. But when I got my hands on an early copy I felt alive again. I held it and pet it, hesitate a little bit before starting because I knew that this was the end, it was time to part ways with Nikki, Jack and Cole.

Brodi Ashton created a really nice and mysterious story. She definitely knows how to create that dark world full of creatures that we all are afraid of, characters that are believable and a story line to keep you at the edge of your seat. I am a huge fan of her work, the world that she made up, trapped me and got my attention from beginning to end.

Nikki is so much stronger in this installment. She has grown so much since Everneath. She is more determined and more concentrated, she is going to bring down the Everneath or die trying. Her character in the first two books sometimes annoyed me a little, she always was feeling pity for herself and I wanted to tell her to be strong and move on! But in this book her character was nicely done and I learn how to respect her.

Jack and Nikki are so perfect for each other. I was Team Jack since the beginning and their relationship here is so beautiful. The lengths that Jack is willing to go for her it shows real love. As for Cole, I was never a fan of him. He betrayed Nikki several times, hid stuff from her, lied to her and took advantage of her because of her being naive. He told her that he was in love her but his actions did not support his words. I just couldn't sympathize with him but eventually he grew up on me but I just could not trust him anymore.

The story had a slow start, but once I got into I wasn't able to put it down. This was the perfect ending for the trilogy even though is bittersweet and heartbreaking. While I was reading I was a little afraid of the outcome, it had me at the edge of my seat waiting to see how everything was going to come around.

Although the ending is a bittersweet like I said before I am really happy that the author choose it. Brodi Ashton took a myth and created a unique and beautiful love story, with an intriguing plot with twists and turns, never a dull moment. If you are fan of mythology and fantasy I totally recommend this book, actually I recommend this book to everyone.
