#BlogTour #Review & #Giveaway: The Hardest Part by @HLondon06

Title: The Hardest Part
Author: Heather London
Genre: New Adult Romance/Suspense
Publication: January 5, 2014

“I sat there and stared at my new name, still wondering if I would be strong enough to do this—start over and make a new life—knowing in the back of my mind he would always be out there. I knew I was his obsession—his everything—and he would never stop looking for me.”

Emily Anderson and Reed Alexander are living with pasts they cannot escape.

Emily moved to New York City seeking a fresh start, intending to focus on her career and to keep a low profile.

Reed returns home to New York City after two years, haunted by the same things that pushed him away years ago.

When Reed and Emily meet, their connection is undeniable, but Emily keeps her feelings hidden. Falling in love is the last thing on her mind and she knows the danger it may bring not only to her, but to Reed as well. Reed isn’t as reluctant, but he knows that the demons he’s fighting could destroy Emily.

The harder they try to resist one another, the deeper they fall in love, and the more complicated their lives become.

In the end, they realize that truly loving someone may mean letting them go… and that’s the hardest part.

Emily gets a second chance at life in New York City. She's running from her past, working as an event planner when she meets Reed. Reed is a realty tycoon, and a big name in New York. He needs Emily to plan his Black and White charity event in honor of his mother, but he also wants her. Can Emily get involved with Reed and stay out of the limelight so her past doesn't catch up with her?

I enjoyed The Hardest Part. Emily is kind of timid, but strong at the same time. There were times that I wanted to yell at her to get it together, at those times I had to try to remind myself of the things she had been through. Lexi is the closest thing to a best friend Emily has. She's also Reed's little sister and these two have been through some crap too. Reed is a patient man, and he's willing to wait for Emily to come around. I think they were all perfect for each other really.

There was quite a bit of thrill going on in this book. I don't want to give anything away, but there was a lot of crazy. A lot of worry and looking over shoulders. I can totally understand why Emily did not want to be seen publicly with anyone that was as paparazzi prone as Reed was. She took great pains to hide herself from the world, after meeting the reason, I can understand why.

A couple of minor things that didn't really sit well with me in this book though. First was Emily's refusal to let Reed in until the problem was right on top of them. The next was the ending, it just seemed a little too easy for me.

All in all The Hardest Part was a good read. It had “the romance formula” as I've come to call it, but it was different enough that I didn't feel like I was reading the same ole romance. That little bit of thrill seemed to do the trick for me. I would recommend it. If you like a little bit, but not too much, of a darker story line, this would be a good book to go with.
