In a sizzling prequel novella to her new series THE DARK ELEMENTS, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout draws readers into the extraordinary, irresistible world of Wardens and demons.

Dez wasn't just Jasmine's crush. A gargoyle Warden like Jas, he helped her come to terms with her destiny—fending off demons and maintaining balance between good and evil. He was her everything...right until the moment he disappeared without a trace. It didn't help that Jas's father had just announced that she and Dez would one day be mated. Hard not to take that personally.

And now he's back, three years older, ten times hotter, ready to pick up exactly where they left off. But Jas isn't taking that risk again. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again...

Okay, I don't even know why I am wasting my time writing this review because we all know how I love Jennifer L. Armentrout's books. I mean with all that she writes, and how quickly she releases books I have to wonder if everything she puts out on bookshelves are worth picking up. There has to be at least one book that I will dislike, right? Well, that has not happened yet. Don't get me wrong, I am not sitting around waiting for a bad book by her. I love that so far she has impressed me with just about every book she releases, and hope it stays this way.

When I got my hands on Bitter Sweet Love I was a little hesitant to read it. As much as her idea of gargoyle's sounds unique and different, I just could not picture humans who shift into gargoyle form. There aren't many books out there about gargoyles so I didn't really have much to go on. This was definitely a different kind of read for me, and very unique.

Bitter Sweet Love is a great start to The Dark Elements series. You get just enough background on everyone and everything, a romance, and meet Layla and Zayne -- your two main characters in White Hot Kiss. For such a short novella it also has plenty of suspense and action. It's a great story and if this any clue to what is to come in White Hot Kiss, I am sold.
