I want more! Really? That was it? I probably should have done research before buying because I thought this was a full blown novel. Rush
Women in his bed, celebs and rockers in his chair and a killer bank account at his disposal, life is pretty freaking swell. Then she walks back into it again. With her mismatched eyes, perfect pink mouth and a laugh that still haunts him, she gave him nothing but marvelous misery. Now she wants his hands on her again. Not for pleasure, but for pain. For Ink. A bleeding heart to match the one she left him with five years ago.
Addison
She can’t forget him. No matter how hard she’s tried. The pain she caused him in the past eats at her daily, and she can’t move on with her life. But she has a plan, a hope for redemption – a way for him to take his revenge out on her flesh. But it’ll only work if he lets her inside his exclusive world, under his famous artist’s needle and into his bed—and heart-once again.
*First Ink can also be found in the Wicked Firsts Anthology releasing on August 19, 2013.*
On a good note, though, the story opens up with Addison and gets right to the point. I am actually a little shocked for such a tiny book the amount of chemistry and romance it has. It also has the perfect amount of angst. This is definitely New Adult and has some very, very steamy moments. It's not over done though, and I think that is why I enjoyed it so much. There is an actual story packed in this little book.
I've never read any of Laura Wright's books before, but will definitely be checking them out now.
My only complaint is I want more. When it ended I found myself going back a couple of pages wondering if maybe I accidentally skipped pages or something.
If you want a new adult contemporary romance to get lost in without having to take days to finish reading it, pick up First Ink. You'll really enjoy it!
Great Review!
ReplyDeleteNice review. Is it really that short?
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy her writing. I've been wanting to read this one so it's good to know its worth it. Thanks for the review. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was really good, but I wish it was a full blown novel. I did buy her other books to give them a try lol.
DeleteSounds good but I hate that feeling of wanting more of a story. I'm in love with new adult contemporaries though!
ReplyDeleteThen you will definitely enjoy this one! lol
