For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.
Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.
But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.
My review:
I absolutely LOVED Frigid. Not that I doubted it at all. Jennifer makes writing seem so easy. It's like the words just flow through her fingers. I love the way she wrote her characters because they seemed so realistic. I like that they were mature. As much as I enjoy reading YA and NA, I hate reading about characters that are immature. Kyler and Syd were really easy to connect to. And the scenes were definitely believable.
This book had just the right amount of sexy. Kyler is definitely someone that would intrigue me if I had met him in person. In fact, I just designated him as my book boyfriend. He has the confidence and aurora to pull of sexy to a whole other level. As for Syd, even she was describe very detailed that I was able to picture her perfectly as well. Though she is cute and sexy as well, she doesn't have the aurora about her. She lacks a bit in confidence.
Kyler was a very likable character despite his non monogamous ways. He's your typical single dude that hasn't settled down yet. But all things end with Syd, she's not to be messed with. She's perfect. I love how she's untouchable to him and he puts her above everyone else. No one comes before her whether they're friends or not. And that's something I admire in a friendship. No other man/woman is going to stand before true friendship. Now Syd is adorable and cute as a button but what made the book for me was Kyler. So that's why this review is focused on him.
I really enjoyed this book. Syd had me feeling bad for her. Somehow the roles were reversed for her, usually the guy is stuck in the "Friend Zone" but in this book it was her. And it was easily noted how frustrated that made her. I was rooting for her and Kyler to get together. Though as some point she did annoy me and I thought Kyler is too much for her to handle. I knew she was a good girl and I wanted her to be happy. Kyler and her deserved each other. Love is a powerful source and I feel it conquers all.
Frigid was awesome!! It's definitely a 5 star read and a definite Good Choice for Reading!!
