To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naive and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn't prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

          My Review:

This is my first Abbi Glines read and I feel kind of disappointed with it. This story didn't grab me like its grabbed everyone else. Fallen Too Far fell short for me. I was looking forward to loving this book. Abbi is really popular and she's well loved with her readers, I felt there's no way I won't feel the same. But when I finished this book and I wasn't swooned, I was a bit baffled. Did I read the same book everyone else did? Did anyone not see what I saw?

At first I felt really bad for Blaire because she had just recently lost her mother. And she really didn't get a chance to grieve. She had to keep on going, so she ended up at her Dad's. In my opinion her dad is a douche. He isn't active in her life and doesn't really care to be. So she moves in, she meets her infamous step brother who I happen not to like very much as well.

Rush, is sexy. Yes, I give him that. But for someone who is 24 years old, he sure doesn't act his age. The things he did just to get a reaction out of her isn't very mature. And what makes me even more mad is that she kinds of weakens around him. I don't like that in characters. He's such an ass most of the time and his actions makes him so immature. So when I read how she was concerned about his feelings, I had to roll my eyes.

Now during the end of the book, I felt bad for Rush a tad bit. I can see his feelings were more sincere but I really wished that he showed them from the beginning. Maybe things would have been different if he did. However, as much as I did not like Rush, the ending did grab me. I feel Blaire redeemed herself in the ending when she stood her ground. So I will be reading the sequel. I give "Fallen Too Far" a 3.5 stars. If you're a fan of Abbi's then go ahead and give this book a try. You'll probably like it more than me.

  1. This was my first Abbi Glines as well, and I had a pretty similar reaction. I found myself wondering throughout the entire book, what, precisely, was causing all the ruckus. I ended up not reviewing it because I would have put it a little lower. :) Do you think it could possibly be love for the new "new adult" genre as much as the actual author/books? Because, based on quality of writing, character development, etc., I don't see Fallen Too Far receiving quite as much adoration from a straight YA audience or a straight Romance/Women's Fiction audience.

    1. I see your question. And to be honest, I don't get it either. Maybe it's both. I will however give her other novels another chance. She will well loved around the blogging community and her books are a hit. So this one wasn't the right one for us. But I'll definitely try her "Vincent Brothers" series.

    2. Vincent Brothers was the next one I was considering. :)

    3. You may be right; and Vincent Boys was the next book of hers that I was going to try. :)

    4. I have been wanting to read it. I'm going to squeeze it in.

  2. I haven't read Abbi Glines yet either and I keep seeing mixed reviews for this one.
My friends, who are HUGE Abbi fans said that this is not the one for me to start with because even they were frustrated with it. Seems like that is the case ;)
They all say Sea Breeze is the place to start!

    1. Maybe that's the problem. I thought "Sea Breeze" is part of a series. I'm going to try the "Vincent Brothers" next.

  3. I didn't know this story was going to be continued in another book so I wanted to throw my kindle when I read the last page. March can't get here soon enough! I can't wait to find out what happens with Blaire and Rush. I need them to have their HEA!!

Read this book now!! You will NOT be disappointed!!
