Rox: Thanks
for having me!
Tell us a
little bit about yourself and THREE RIVER RANCH.
Rox: I grew
up in Saskatchewan and our family vacations usually involved a trip to BC,
where we’d pick fruit and visit relatives. But on our way there, as we wound
our way through the Rockies, we’d always take time to stop at the various
scenic spots. We saw big-horn sheep, mountain goats, bear; we hiked misty,
moss-hung trails. We stopped at every hot-spring for a soak. There’s nothing
like lying back in a pool of steaming mineral water, with the mountains rising
around you on all sides, sometimes with snowflakes falling around you! The
wide-open spaces of the prairies, combined with the broad sweep of mountain
range created a sort of ideal landscape in my mind, I think, that contributed
to the inspiration for Three River Ranch.
If you
could pick one scene in TRR that you felt was close to home, which would it be?
And why?
Rox: any of
the scenes where Rory and Carson are standing outside under the stars. You
don’t appreciate just how big and dark the sky is, until you’re out at night
somewhere without streetlights. I grew up knowing the beauty and silence of
true night and now, in the bustle of suburbia, I miss it.
Describe
Carson in three words.
Rox:
Driven. Passionate. Teachable. (You can forgive a man almost anything, as long
as he’s willing to learn from his mistakes!)
What do you
feel was most challenging with publishing TRR?
Rox: the
challenge was *finding* a publisher in these difficult economic times. By the
time my agent emailed to say someone “loved” the book and wanted to publish it,
I’d pretty much given up. But the challenge turned out to be the biggest
blessing, because the team at Entangled Publishing is simply amazing. They care
about making their books the best they can possibly be, and there’s nothing an
author wants more. Well. Fame and fortune would be good too… eventually.
Favorite
quote in the book?
Rox: Rory
tells Carson when he’s remembering a previous relationship: “Never apologize
for loving someone.”

Rox: I’m
just finishing up the story of Zach and Desiree, who we meet in Three River
Ranch. They’ve each got enormous burdens, his from a recent tragedy, hers from
an old one and it takes a lot of work for them to open up to each other. I just
love this story, and I think readers will too! Of course, there’s an animal
theme in this one too – it’s a ranch, after all. But this one might surprise
you!
Find Roxanne Snopek
Needing a fresh start from her two-timing fiancĂ©, Aurora McAllister answers a realtor’s ad for a guesthouse on the beautiful, serene Three River Ranch. She shows up at Three River tired, heartbroken, and with no one but her trusty Labradoodle as a companion.
Cowboy Carson Granger has enough trouble in his life without adding a woman and her dog to the mix. There’s the untamed mustang he’s prepping to release into the wild, not to mention his father’s crazy will, which stipulates that if Carson wants to fully inherit Three River, he’ll need to find a bride. Carson wants nothing to do with love and especially not a marriage of convenience. But he soon realizes Rory, and everything she represents, might just be exactly what he needs.
Sometimes love arrives on your doorstep when you least expect it…
