Review: On Dublin Street by Samantha Young (18+)

On Dublin Street

Ages 18+  † Amazon

Four years ago, Jocelyn Butler left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Edinburgh. Burying the grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without any real attachments has worked well for her so far but when Joss moves into a fantastic apartment on Dublin Street, her carefully guarded world is shaken to its core by her new roommate's sexy older brother.

Braden Carmichael is a man who always gets what he wants. And what he wants is Jocelyn in his bed. Knowing how skittish Joss is concerning any kind of relationship, Braden proposes a sexual arrangement that should satisfy the intense attraction between them without it developing into anything 'more'. An intrigued Jocelyn agrees, completely unprepared for the Scotsman and his single-minded determination to strip the stubborn young woman bare... to the very soul.

Contains strong adult content. For readers ages 18+

         My Review:

On Dublin Street is my first read by Samantha Young and if this is how she writes all her other books, then she has a fan for life in me. I was told that On Dublin Street is her first adult contemporary. Well, I can tell you she knocked it right out the ball park for her first time. This novel was completely enthralling.

From the beginning On Dublin Street drew me in and wouldn't let me go until I finished. I stayed up late consumed with it. Samantha Young had me rooting for both of her main characters. I rooted both Jocelyn and Braden. Even Ellie (the roommate) had me rooting for her. But as for Jocelyn and Braden, I fell in love with both of them immediately. Their personalities and their sense of humor were written perfectly.

The chemistry between Jocelyn and Braden is evident from the very beginning. I can feel their chemistry as I read their scenes. Braden is a man that knows what he wants and he wants Jocelyn. Plain and simple. Jocelyn, on the other hand, is used to not letting anyone get past her wall of steel. That is until she met Braden. Together they embark on an emotional journey where they both had to learn and grow. They both had me laughing so hard that at one point I cried. There is lots and lots of humor in this book.

I recommend this book to all of her fans and to everyone who loves a sexy read. Samantha Young did a phenomenal job with this story. I was left wanting more of Jocelyn and Braden. When it comes to characters like these, you would want more too. I give "On Dublin Street" 5 huge gold stars! A definite Good Choice Reading.
