I thought it would be fun to do a silly sort of “compatibility quiz” to help readers get to know Alessa and me. Enjoy!

Get to Know the Girls Behind Stitch: Alessa/Author Compatibility Quiz

Samantha Durante: Alright Alessa, are you ready for this 5-point compatibility quiz?  We’re going to find out once and for all how alike we really are.

Alessa Khole: Okay, but shouldn’t we do some sort of introduction first?

Samantha: …That’s probably a good idea.  Hi everybody, Samantha Durante, author of Stitch here, along with the star of Stitch, Alessa Khole.  To help you get to know us a little better, we’re taking a silly compatibility quiz that we found online.  The results should be enlightening!

Alessa: (rolling eyes) You’re such a dork.

Samantha: I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that.  Okay, Less, good to go?

Alessa: Shoot.

Samantha: Question 1 – what’s your favorite food?

Alessa: Cheese!  Definitely cheese!

Samantha: DEFINITELY cheese.  There were like four different cheese references in Stitch, did you notice?

Alessa: I did, because I got to eat them!

Samantha: Haha.  The funny part is that it wasn’t even intentional – I guess I just have cheese on the brain…  Okay, well that’s one point.  Good job.  Question 2 – favorite item in your wardrobe?  I’ll take this one first.  Boots.

Alessa: I LOVE boots.  Do you remember the awesome pair that I wore to the party in chapter 10/11?

Samantha: Those were some GREAT boots.  A girl can never have too many pairs of boots!

Alessa: Well, I don’t know about that – all I need is one great pair of boots.

Samantha: (shaking head) I don’t know who wrote you, but it certainly wasn’t me.

Alessa: Yes it was.

Samantha: Okay, fine.  Close enough – boots, even though you are boot-deficient, in my opinion.  That’s two points!  Next question – what are you most attracted to on a guy?

Alessa: That’s easy – eyes.

Samantha: Yeah, I’m with you on that one.  When I met my fiancĂ©, I couldn’t figure out what it was about him that I was so attracted to, but eventually I realized it’s his gorgeous almond-shaped eyes and thick, dark lashes.  Very unexpected on a guy, and very sexy.

Alessa: (sighs) I’m a sucker for some baby blues…

Samantha: Oh, don’t I know it.  How do you think you ended up with the guy I put you with?  I knew he’d be perfect for you.

Alessa: He really is.  Thank you.

Samantha: (grins) Anytime.  Okay, three points!  Next question.  This is the second to last one so let’s keep up our streak!  Describe your predominant mood.

Alessa: Serious, I guess.

Samantha: Yeah, you’re pretty serious.  A little sullen, even.

Alessa: I’ve been through a lot!

Samantha: That’s true – it’s not all your fault.

Alessa: You’re not exactly flowers and sunshine, either.

Samantha: Hey, plenty of people have described me as “bubbly!”

Alessa: Remember when your mother-in-law said you were sweet at dinner and your entire family almost choked on their food from laughing so hard?

Samantha: Fine, I’ll admit I’m moody – sometimes I’m sweet, sometimes I’m sullen.  Like you.  :-P

Alessa: Fair enough.  So what’s that, half a point?

Samantha: Sure.  Alright, time for the last question!  What’s your favorite animal?

Alessa: Favorite WILD animal.  I’m sick of listening to you talk about your cat.

Samantha: Don’t hate on Gio!  He’s an amazingly complex, wonderful creature.  And he’s got such cute little paws.

Alessa: You have a problem.  My favorite wild animal is a tiger.

Samantha: Mine too!  That’s four-and-a-half points out of five!  Hmm, I guess we’re pretty similar.  That’s kind of boring.

Alessa: Well, it’s your first book – I think readers can forgive you for drawing from your own experience.

Samantha: Hopefully.  At least I didn’t give you a cat problem.

Alessa: Thank God for that.

Samantha: (smirks) Remember, there are still two more books left in your trilogy…

Alessa: Okay, I’m shutting up now.  Thanks everyone!  Hope to see you at tomorrow’s stop!

About Stitch...

Her heart races, her muscles coil, and every impulse in Alessa's body screams at her to run... but yet she's powerless to move.

Still struggling to find her footing after the sudden death of her parents, the last thing college freshman Alessa has the strength to deal with is the inexplicable visceral pull drawing her to a handsome ghostly presence. In between grappling with exams and sorority soirees - and disturbing recurring dreams of being captive in a futuristic prison hell - Alessa is determined to unravel the mystery of the apparition who leaves her breathless. But the terrifying secret she uncovers will find her groping desperately through her nightmares for answers.

Because what Alessa hasn't figured out yet is that she's not really a student, the object of her obsession is no ghost, and her sneaking suspicions that something sinister is lurking behind the walls of her university's idyllic campus are only just scratching the surface...

The opening installment in a twist-laden trilogy, Stitch spans the genres of paranormal romance and dystopian sci-fi to explore the challenges of a society in transition, where morality, vision, and pragmatism collide leaving the average citizen to suffer the results.

  6. This book sounds awesome, and the cover is pretty much bad arse. I love the color of their eyes. The poppiness of it all, is very eye catching. I think Stitch and I will get along just fine. And one great pair of boots is all a girl really needs. I love my Frye's, and don't need another pair. But I sure do like the black ones, too.....
