Ever since his abduction by the Eternal Order of Vampires, Gray Donohue has finally found his true calling: vengeance. He will stop at nothing to bring his fellow Impure vampires the freedom they deserve. Now if he could just release his primal need for the beautiful vampire who saved his life—and rules his thoughts and desires…

After nearly killing the senator she was assigned to protect, Dillon is now in mortal danger. The jaguar within her has been unleashed, and she can no longer control it. Sex is the only thing that can tame her shift. And Gray is the only man who can make her surrender to a passion strong enough to overpower her inner beast. But she doesn’t want to surrender—she wants her life back. Because she is determined never to belong to anyone, especially not Gray—the male whom destiny claims is her mate…

This was my favorite of the four books so far! I have been intrigued by Gray since Eternal Hunger when we first met him. Always mysterious and dark you never really knew if Gray was good or bad, was he willing to work with the Roman Brothers or against them. Determined to meet his own agenda first, Gray will stop at nothing to see his Impure vampires get the rights and freedom they deserve.

When Gray first met Dillon in book one, the connection was immediate, both were so damaged from their pasts, they knew it could never be more than just sex between them. But when Dillon is shifted and stuck into her beast form, she turns to Gray for help. For some reason Gray is the only one who can help her shift back to human form.

I loved the power play between them and how they both always try to be the top, yet both give in when best suited to do so. As a reader you know they are perfect for each other and want them to see it. Both Dillon and Gray are so stubborn and think that if they accept love they put the other at danger or worse have a weak point for someone to use against them.

There was a lot of action in this book. We got to see some powerful take downs we have been waiting for and some shocking revelations within the order. I look forward to the next book to see where it goes from here!

  4. I had heard about this series for a long time before I began and once I did I went through all the books quickly. There are so many vampire books out there that they start to sound the same. I like the differant take on this one and worth reading in my opinion.
