I have come to love historical romance books. I love the tension that goes with the characters.The forbidden exchange between man and woman unless they are married leads to such chemistry.

I so love Millie, she is a strong minded and intelligent woman. She loves adventure and that tends to get her into trouble a lot! Yet every time she does get herself in a bad spot, Charles her best friends older brother is always there to save her. As a child she decided to swear off marriage and makes a pact with her two best friends. All three girls at the age of twelve decide to not ever marry unless a man meets their out clause.

Now the three have grown up and are coming out into society. Charlie returns home after being gone for so long to escort the three and help them find a suitable husband. At first glance of the grown up Millie, Charles knows he is in trouble! I love the chemistry between these two right at first glance. But the tension only grows as both know they can never be together for different reasons.

Over the course of the story, the tension and chemistry builds so much with the characters. I loved it and could not put the book down. I loved the adventures that Millie finds and creates. I love the excitement of the danger surrounding Charles and his past. A spellbinding love story of mystery, intrigue and forbidden passion!
