My Experience at Book Expo of America 2012!

So I am finally home and able to share with everyone my experience at Book Expo of America 2012.

This is only my second time attending, but I have to say that this year I had a much better time than last year. Last year was great, but this year for me was the best!

I went to BEA this year without a schedule. I had no clue what was going to be there, or who was signing. I decided that I would just go with the flow. I think this plays a big part as to why I enjoyed myself so much. Last year I was running around like a mad women trying to make every signing and make sure I was able to grab the books I wanted, etc.

One BIG thing I really liked about Book Expo of America this year was that every publisher had a schedule with dates and times that they were going to put out books. This was the GREATEST idea ever! I would look at the list and if they had a book that sounded good to me, I would simply walk over at that time and grab a copy. I wish this had been done last year.

My days at BEA ran so smoothly because of this. I was able to hang out with other fellow bloggers, grab a bite to eat, and I didn't miss out on anything. I didn't attend any book signings by the autographing area, but I was able to attend some signings that were taking place at publisher booths.

If I am able to attend again next year, I will do the same and attend without a schedule. I had a blast! I met so many bloggers, authors and publishers, who were all super nice! I came home with a nice batch of books and cannot wait to dive into them!

Some publishers also took some time to sit with me and give a small presentation of some of their new and upcoming titles. I love when publishers do this. There are some amazing books being released later on this year. :-)

Here are some photos from my time at BEA...

Melissa Marr signing copies of her upcoming book, Carnival of Souls!

Melissa Marr and Me! She was super nice!

Becca Fitzpatrick signing copies of Hush, Hush! The cover for Finale was also revealed!

Author of Ashfall and Ashen Winter,  Mike Mullin. He was super nice and FUNNY! lol

Jennifer L. Armentrout and Me!

She was just walking around greeting everyone! I had a great time chatting with her about her books. :-)

Cara Lynn Shultz signing copies of Spellcaster at the Harlequin booth.

The very super talented Julie Kagawa signing copies of The Iron King at the Harlequin booth!

Ah! Me and Susan Mallery! She is just as awesome in person as she is online! Also very tall lol. I had no idea she was that tall!

Elizabeth Norris, Veronica Roth, Bethany Griffin and Aprilynne Pike signing copies of their books.

Author Elizabeth Norris signing copies of Unraveling.
Jus Accardo and Me! Touch is one of my favorite books ever!

This is what I came home with. FOUR bags full of books! I was in heaven! :-)

And there you have it! My crazy week at BEA :-)

There are lots more photos coming from Maria, Wanda and Debbie who will be sharing their experience with you soon!

I wish I would've taken more photos, but to be honest, every time I thought about taking pictures I got distracted by something else. LOL I lose focus very easily!

I have a scattered brain hahahaha

    1. OMG Jess, we skipped Thursday. Thank goodness for the schedules the publishers handed out. I knew what I would be missing and headed home since I already had copies and didn't really have room to carry doubles lol.

But hopefully if I learn what and how BEA works I'll be there next year. (I'm super jealous of all those books you got btw haha)
