Hey GCReaders!
Today we're really excited to share with you the book trailer of Mirage by Kristi Cook! No secret we're huge fans and love Kristi to death so when we were asked to reveal the trailer we jumped with pure excitement!
Haven was one of our favorite books of 2011 and we cannot wait for the release of Mirage. You guys are going to love it! Violet's world gets a lot more interesting in Mirage and her relationship with Aidan has grown a lot! I loved every minute of it! You also get to meet new characters!
Ah! I will stop ranting now LOL! I hope you like the trailer!
And now a sneak peek into Mirage....
“So, you and Aidan Gray…” Dr. Byrne trailed off expectantly.
I swallowed hard, not quite sure where this was going. Or how much he knew. “What about us?”
“I was just wondering if you’re a hundred percent comfortable with the risks.”
“I don’t know what you mean,” I lied. My heart was pounding in my chest, thumping against my rib cage. His expression relaxed a bit. “I’m pretty sure you do.”
He had me there. I decided to try a different tactic. “He says you’ve been working with him in the lab. Are you a hundred percent comfortable with the risks?”
He shook his head. “It’s not the same.”
“It is,” I argued, sliding back into the chair behind me.
“It’s not, and you know it. Look, I’m fully supportive of Aidan’s work. I want to help him. This is…well, probably the most exciting work I’ve done in a long time. But I think someone here needs to be looking out for you.”
He obviously had no idea about the Sâbbat thing—and I wanted to keep it that way. “Mrs. Girard is looking out for me,” I offered. He must know that much. He stood and came around the desk, leaning against it, just inches away now. I could smell him—soap and aftershave. He smelled…nice. Clean, kind of like the ocean.
“Obviously I’m screwing this up,” he said, shaking his head. “So let me start over. I’m trying to say that I’ve got your back. That if you ever need to talk to someone—to an adult—about the…situation…I’m here. That’s all.”
“Just how much do you know about the…situation?” I asked, unable to stanch my curiosity.
“Not much, beyond the scientific details I’ve managed to put together. I get the feeling that he’s not really at liberty to share.”
“Not without…consequences.” Oh my God, we were talking in code, like spies or something.
“Hmm. Interesting.” He folded his arms across his chest, causing the rolled-up sleeves of his shirt to ride up, exposing the bottom of edge of a tattoo—something that looked vaguely like a dagger. Whoa, Dr. Hottie had a tattoo. Now that was interesting.
“Will you promise me one thing, Violet?” he continued. “Just this one thing, and then we can stop talking about it. For now, at least.”
“Depends on what you want me to promise,” I said with a shrug. Because some things weren’t negotiable, especially where Aidan was concerned.

About Mirage:
Seventeen-year-old Violet McKenna is back for her senior year at Winterhaven, and thrilled to be with Aidan after a long summer apart. But when a violent and disturbing vision begins to haunt her, Violet suddenly feels unsure of everything: who to trust, if she is in danger, and—worst of all—whether she and Aidan are really meant to be together.

I really dont like the narrator. Her voice reminds me of a cheap teenage drama. :( On the other hand the video (minus narrator) is pretty good! It gets the story across, but maybe add a little more of the danger and survival aspect??
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't like book trailers.. I have yet to view a good one.. they all seem so lame. So I tend to never watch them.
ReplyDeleteSorry.
Hm. It seemed at bit short, but I was still interested. But since it's a Kristi Cook, novel, I was sold anyway. Thanks for hosting an awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI always think book trailers are far too short, so that's probably irrelavent. :P However, I think there could have been a little more drama in the trailer to really give it the sense of danger the narrator is trying to convince us of! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteIt was short! I must say, but it kept me interested. I hope that its more about the school, rather than her love, but it does look great.
ReplyDeleteShort but sweet!
ReplyDeleteI have got to read this series! Heard so many good things about it. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to actually see moving images instead of still images in a book trailer. I thought it was appealing for the YA audience. Me, personally, wouldn't go for it.
ReplyDeleteI am not usually a fan of book trailers (I don't even read the backs of books, I find they give too much away!!), but this was a well-done trailer! Can't wait to read the book!
ReplyDeleteI liked that it was actually like a trailer instead of just pictures. :-D
ReplyDeleteI think book trailers are [usually] amazing,
ReplyDeletethis one was almost too short, but very well done! Thank you
for posting it, and the giveaway :)

the trailer made me want to read the book, i like that there are not just pictures.
ReplyDeleteI thought the trailer could have been a little bit more dramatic. The words had all of the drama but they weren't delivered with a punch. Otherwise then it was pretty good!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!!
A bit short, but still pretty good. I can't wait to read Mirage!
ReplyDeleteit was short but enjoyable-

Thanks for the giveaway! The book trailer was.. ok...
ReplyDeleteThe idea of a book trailer has always been a little odd for me, but this one isn't bad! I want to read the book for sure!
ReplyDeleteWell it was pretty short. I tend to not be a big fan of book trailers but I will watch them if I am already interested in the novel. I thought this one was good if a bit lacking in information.
ReplyDeleteI liked the book trailer! The narration was a bit cheesy sounding though. I thought the ending with the school emblem and the slogan fit in really well. It's a good teaser trailer!
ReplyDeleteI love the crest for Winterhaven! and that little glimpse we got of Aidan is awesome! I absolutely loved Haven:)
ReplyDeleteI love book trailers:)
The trailer is quite suspenseful. It makes you wonder what's going to happen just like a trailer should.
ReplyDeleteI don't like book trailers either but I really want to read this book.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, can't say that I was very impressed. Sad but true. I enjoyed reading Haven and it didn't give me the feel of the book.
ReplyDeleteIt got my interest but it was a little too short
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds great, but I was more drawn in by the blurb than the trailer. Book trailers in general for me seem cheaply made with bad acting, so I usually don't watch them.
ReplyDeleteI like short book trailers! I'm not going to sit through three minutes of one, lol. I liked it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit short, but I loved it!
ReplyDeleteIt's a little too short, but it looks good! It definitely makes me more inclined to read the novel.
ReplyDeleteI love the book trailer! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI thought the trailer was ok, but just a skosh too short. Maybe another 10 seconds would have done it.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the voice over but I've seen worse.
ReplyDeleteThe trailer was really short for one and second iI really didn't like the narrator. but it was good
ReplyDeleteI think that while the book trailer is pretty good, it doesn't do the series justice.
ReplyDeleteThe book trailer told me that this is a YA boarding school paranormal romance. If the trailer contained other relevant info about the novel, I didn't pick up on it in the first viewing. (commenting as Justine)
ReplyDeletehmmm...the book trailer is ok but i'm still interested to read this :) wohooo!!
ReplyDeleteThe book trailer was okay, but it could have been better :)
ReplyDeleteTrailer looks good! I would like to read this series though. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThe trailer seems a bit clichéd and Twlight-ish in terms of "do they truly belong together." Other than that, Mirage sounds decent.
ReplyDeleteI think the trailer could have been a lot better, but the book description still intrigues me!
ReplyDeleteIt was brief, which i like in trailers. It was also to the point and I wish they would have included more action, but it was okay. I am still going to read it, no matter what.
ReplyDeleteThe book trailer was OK. I am not a big fan of book trailer for different reasons. But I do think they are a necessary evil right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in the description of the book... I'm not much of a book trailer fan. =)

I liked it! It was short but it got across a large part of the novel, I think. I would have liked to see more of the school in the trailer maybe since that was such an awesome thing for me while reading. Thanks for the giveaway! :) I can't wait for Mirage!
ReplyDeleteSonia
I liked how the story was told, which made it interesting. It was a bit on the short side though.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I think it should be scrapped. it didn't pertain to the book at all.

I didn't really like the trailer at all. The only thing that I liked was the Winterhaven school crest. Sorry :/
ReplyDeleteThe trailer was ok. Some of the images went by really fast.
ReplyDeleteUhm, I honestly thought it would be a lot better. the book is not done any justice via this trailer. It was too short, the narrator had a slightly annoying voice, the kissing scene hasbto go, I did not feel the book in this trailer. I certainly hope that this was a test trailer. I feel bad saying this because I love the book and the author.
ReplyDeleteThe trailer didn't seem to say what the book was about at all for me. The teenage open mouth bass fish kissing kind of grossed me out. Seriously. Ick. Loved the book. Not the trailer...
ReplyDeleteThe book trailer wasn't nearly as good as I expected it...
ReplyDeleteThanks for this giveaway. I liked the trailer it sounds almost like a gossip girl narration like in the show it gets me interested and i want to know more about the books.
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit short, but to the point.
ReplyDeleteIt was okay, not the best! But it did fit the novel pretty good! Thanks for the giveaway, can't wait for Mirage :)
ReplyDeleteI liked the trailer and I agree I love it when trailer's are not just pictures
ReplyDeleteI thought it was well made. Not full of obvious special effects to grab your attention which was nice. When there is too much in the trailer it can make me wary of the book.
ReplyDeleteIt was ok. I didn't get a feel for the book though.
ReplyDeleteI barely squinted at it b/c I haven't read Haven yet and I hate any hint of a spoiler!
ReplyDeleteI barely squinted at it b/c I haven't read Haven yet and I hate any hint of a spoiler!
ReplyDeleteI was to be honest expecting more. I liked the words of the narrator, but the voice was not my cuppa. I would have like to see more graphics to grab my imagination and let me know a little more about what the series is about. I have not read this series and loved the synopsis and would like to see a dynamite trailer to match it :)
ReplyDeleteI was expecting something a little more fast paced or involved. Haven was an awesome book and I guess I just felt like the trailer fell short of what I expected but it was still enough to hold my attention and made me want more for sure!!
ReplyDeleteIt was alright. It didn't give me goosies or anything like that though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this giveaway! GBU<3
Thank you for this wonderful giveaway. I did like it but it was kind of short to base a true opinion from it.
ReplyDelete- Beckie @ Bittersweet Enchantment
Short but it was enough to keep me interested. I felt like there could have been more but I'm glad it wasn't too in depth because I haven't read the first book yet and didn't want anything super spoilery!
ReplyDeleteLove the trailer! I would have liked it to be a little longer with more info but I liked what I saw!
ReplyDeleteI liked the trailer and I think it gives people a good idea of what the story is about in a short time.
ReplyDeleteI liked the book trailer and the books sounds really good.
ReplyDeleteit sounds really good.
ReplyDeletebook sounds good but trailer isnt great. awkward kissing doesn't do it for me
ReplyDeleteI didn't like the trailer very much. The voiceover of the girl sounded weird because what she was saying contrasted with the 'danger' part.
ReplyDeleteI usually don't watch book trailers. I found it to be a bit like an intro for Twilight. Not bad but I feel it could have been a little better. It sounded like the narrator was talking in a dream.
ReplyDeleteOh my this cover.... it's green, it's purple, it has a shattered mirror! D: I hadn't seen the booktrailer yet, it looks so good. I have to get me a copy of the book #1 first. :3
