Where It Began Blog Tour: Character Interview w/ Lisa

1. What is one of your favorite meals to order while out at a restaurant?

I love going to Chinatown for dim sum, which is this breakfast or lunch kind of meal. Rolling carts filled with little dumplings and things pass by your table and you pick out the dishes you want when you see them roll by. My favorite dim sum foods are chicken bao, egg rolls, shrimp dumplings, and potstickers with pretty much anything in them. And I love sesame balls for desert, when they’re slightly warm.

2. What is your favorite book?

In my opinion, To Kill a Mockingbird is a perfect book. It has really great characters and a great plot with some courtroom drama, which I love. (I’m a Law & Order junkie.) Also, Atticus turns out to be this incredibly brave character, and there’s such a good message but it comes out of the plot. It doesn’t go: and the moral of this story is…Not in so many words, but you know what I mean. Also, I love the writing.

3. What do you do on your down time?

During school, unfortunately, I don’t have that much down time, but I like old movies. Especially old Technicolor movies from the ‘50’s and ‘60’s, and black and white musicals from before that, especially Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. My parents live and breathe movies, so I grew up watching a lot of them, and I still love to.

Also, I like to bake. Lately, I’ve started getting into decorating cakes, which is kind of fun if you don’t mind if you mess up your cake. (It still tastes good, it just doesn’t necessarily end up looking the way you expected.)

4. If you had three wishes, what would they be and why?

First wish: I wish that everyone in the world could know peace and happiness. Second wish: I wish that Huey and I would be together forever.
Third wish: I wish I were an incredible artist. Better than Gabby, even.

5. Favorite Band?

I keep wanting to say something like Radiohead, when everyone is expecting me to say, The Afters. In reality, I like Adele a lot. It’s one of those things where, when I first heard her voice on the radio, I went, “Who’s that?!?!?” Yes, I know everyone loves Adele a lot and she’s not actually a band, but she is so good.

Sometimes the end is just the beginning.

Gabby lived under the radar until her makeover. Way under. but when she started her senior year as a blonder, better-dressed version of herself, she struck gold: Billy Nash believed she was a the flawless girl she was pretending to be. The next eight months with Billy were bliss...Until the night Gabby woke up on the ground next to the remains of his BMW without a single memory of how she got there.

And Billy's nowhere to be found.

All Gabby wants is to make everything perfect again. But getting her life back isn't difficult, it's impossible. Because nothing is the same, and Gabby's beginning to realize she's missed more than a few danger signs along the way.

It's time for Gabby to face the truth, even if it means everything changes.

Especially if it means everything changes.
