Movie location scout Mackenzie Foster-Shaw has always known that she's cursed to die young. No one can protect her from the evil that has stalked her family for generations--vampires who crave her rare blood type. Until one afternoon in a wooded cemetery, she encounters an impossibly sexy stranger, a man she must trust with her life. For Dominic, a man haunted by loss, Mackenzie satisfies a primal hunger that torments him--and the bond they share goes beyond heat, beyond love. She alone can supply the strength he needs to claim his revenge. But in doing so, he could destroy her....
I have to say this was another good vampire series. I was worried that it would be so like something I have already read, I mean after all how many times can you read the same thing? However I was really surprised to find this different yet so good. I was drawn in to the story really quick and was interested to see how this would play out.
Dominic is a sexy bad boy who is so used to caring only for himself even after all it has cost him. I love a bad boy who figures out he can’t live that way forever. Sometimes you have to accept what is in front of you even if it worries you. Not everything is controllable especially a strong sassy woman.
Mackenzie is woman with a horrible family past. She has given up on life until she meets Dom. Even in the beginning she does not want to accept what she feels with him. She wants only short term fun, even though everyone around her wants her to look for and accept long term.
Lily is a sub character and friend of Dom’s. I love her!!! This chick is the best. I so wish there was more of her and hope in the next book there is. She has so much to bring to the story and has so many secrets of her own. I found that I had more fun reading scenes she was in than any other sub character.
I found the chemistry between all the characters was really good and really kept me interested in the book all the way through. There was a lot of comedy and action as well as just great bonding moments among everyone in the book. I am so excited to read the next book in this series.
4 out of 5 stars.
This book sound good. I will have to check it out. I am always up for a new vampire book.
