AAD Author Spotlight: Interview & Giveaway w/ author Alexandra Ivy! (18+)

Tell us a little about yourself.

I actually came to writing from my love for theatre. I’ve always been a huge reader, but when I was younger I hoped to work on stage. After taking a play writing class I realized I actually preferred to create my own characters rather than mimicking someone else’s. I worked on a play (that I would still love to finish), but my heart has always belonged to romance, so I swiftly turned my efforts to novels.

2. Share with us a bit about your upcoming book, My Lord Vampire, which will be available tomorrow in bookstores. (2/28)

I actually wrote these under the name Debbie Raleigh and they’re traditional regencies, (historical that are set in the early 1800’s in London England). They tend to be ‘sweeter’ than my current series, which means they don’t have the same level of sex or violence The story follows Gideon who is a vampire who left this world years before to live ‘Beyond the Veil’, but a traitor is threatening his clan and he must travel back to the world of mortals to prevent the Veil from being destroyed. He never expected to meet a mortal woman who would steal his heart and remind him of the desires he’d nearly forgotten.

3. Can we have a small teaser.

Centuries have passed since Gideon Ravel dwelled among humans. Now he must infiltrate the cream of London society to earn the trust of one woman. Simone, Lady Gilbert, possesses an amulet of unimaginable power, and no concept of the threat that surrounds her. The ton’s gossip prepared him for her beauty and wit. But he is blindsided by her barely disguised sensuality and his growing need to possess her...

None of the idle aristocrats who vie for Simone’s attentions know about her past. To them, she is the sophisticated, worldly widow known as the “Wicked Temptress.” The truth would ruin her, and she has never been tempted to reveal it until now. 4. How many books can we expect in this series?

There are three books in the series, although I’d love to continue with the characters. It’s always a matter of finding the time!

5. What would attract readers of your other Vampire series to this one?

The fantastic thing about paranormals is that my characters are immortal, so I have a character “Nefri” who appears in these books that I've introduced in my Guardians of Eternity books. For those who might be interested in her back story they have an opportunity to discover how she was first introduced.

6. Have you ever considered writing a Young Adult series?

I’ve actually toyed around with some ideas and have thought about doing something (especially if I could work with another author) but I’m not entirely sure my voice is suited to the YA market…and of course, there’s the time issue!

7. Sum up Gideon in five words or less.

Arrogant, loyal, aloof, ruthless, sexy.
