Guest Post: 3 of My Favorite Things About Halloween – By Deznee Cross

Sup? Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I mean, when else can you get away with wearing a French maid outfit to school? Okay, you might not get away with it—our principle would probably send you home—but still… There are a zillion reasons I love Halloween, so I thought I’d pop in and share a few.

1. Epic battles. 
What other day of the year can you see Cinderella going all super smack down on a Nun? I dunno about you, but Celebrity Death Match has nothing on the parties in Parkview. Last year, some dude dressed as Mickey Mouse totally laid out some huge guy dressed as Thor. That’s not something you see everyday… Even in a place like Parkview.

2. Free candy. Sugar. 
It’s one of the best things man ever discovered—next to coffee, of course. I swear, one of these days I’m gonna petition to have Candy Corn available in stores all year round. I love them so much, I even toss them into my coffee. Hey—don’t judge! Some people put marshmallows in hot chocolate. Now that’s sick…

3. Dress up isn't just for little kids. 
Everyone loves to play dress up. If you say you’re not into it—you’re lying. It’s the one day of the year where it’s acceptable to walk around wearing thigh high boots, too much make-up and huge glittering fairy wings. Or you could go for awesome and slip into a Lara Croft get up—but never a Playboy Bunny. That’s way lame. CoughcoughMercyCoughcough…
