Blood Drive TEASER:
Before Beth could reply, Thomas said, "It's not your fault." He said it harmlessly enough, no bite in his tone, but Beth jumped at him just the same. She was in his face before anyone realized her intention.
"You don't speak in my house, scavenger! You have no place here except quietly at Jonathan's side. The only reason I haven't expelled you is because of him. He must have a good reason for dragging you around." Beth felt her violet eyes glowing with intensity and Thomas took a step back. Mason looked shocked, but he made no move to end her standoff. Cara stared very deliberately at Thomas, like she was silently reminding him of her earlier threat. Jonathon stood at Thomas side, but all things considered, he looked outnumbered.
"I think we'd better go--" Thomas Began, but Beth cut him off again.
"Do not speak!" she yelled, her voice amplified and distorted as if she were speaking in many voices. Everyone except Cara physically jumped. The halo that Thomas had seen that first night formed around her head, her bandaged palms spread outward, and she advanced on Thomas. He went for the door but it didn't open. Jonathon tried to help him in vain as Beth's voice filled the air in a low chant. "Witches tried and always true, give this evil rightful due. Return this demon to his place. Take away his stolen face!"

Most of the books I read are paranormal romance... So one of the main things I'm looking for is a GOOD love triangle!! I'm a sucker for forbidden love lol! : D

I look for a bad hero, one who will love despite the rules and regulations and beyond...

What I look for is the interest factor - if it doesn't capture my interest after 2 chapters, then i'm disappointed. Also, relatability and vivid images are important.

I'm looking for drama. A love triangle. A rescue mission...anything that will keep me on my toes!

I am starting to get a little picky... there are so many out there. I like there to be some kind of unique aspect of the plot that hasn't been covered too much yet!

Drama and great heroes.

The cover makes me pick it up. The synopsis has to have a good hope for romance. With an interesting plot. Trying to really narrow it down is hard to do. Mainly just a solid sounding romance. When ever I read how they hate each other or avoid one another, it really annoys me. I like romances where the couple stay strong and together against the world.

I usually start with the cover, if it doesn't catch my eye I might skip over it. Then the brief description has to interest me as well. If I keep seeing different blogs talking about a certain book, that will usually peak my interest. Thanks for the giveaway.

I read lot of paranormal romances and books. The cover and the back of book are usually what attract me. The story line. I love romance and alot of action and forbidden love. I love when the characters fight the attraction they feel for each other. Please enter me in contest. Tore923@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI just look for something that catches my eye, sometimes it's the cover, then I look at the blurb and if that furthers my interest then I pick it up. There is no specific thing I look for. Thanks for the giveaway - this one looks interesting and definitely has me intrigued :)

I look for an interesting take on a common legend, or paranormal creatures, interesting sounding characters with some conflict, a lot of action and a great romance.

I think the cover can do it for me...at least at first. I love to pick up a book that looks *awesome* and read the excerpt. edysicecreamlover18@gmailDOTcom
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that a really cool cover usually makes me look at a book.
ReplyDeleteLizzi0915 at aol dot com
I would say the cover and then I read the back and see if i want it!

Urban and dark fantasy are my thing so I love monsters, strong characters and action!

A unique twist. Something, anything that differentiates it from all the other paranormal romance.
ReplyDeleterieconley@missiontoread.com
With all genre, it's the cover and then blurb. The blurb has to hook me in. If it sounds different or familiar but interesting I will try it.

What I look for in a paranormal book is the uniqueness of it, but I also really love the romance in them. So something unique with a lot of romance. Most of the time when I'm looking for a book, it's the cover that makes me pick it up and read the back cover, and if it sounds good, I'll read it.
ReplyDeletekellybsand89(at)hotmail(dot)com
I almost exclusively read Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Young Adult/Paranormal Romance, so I tend to pick them up no matter what. What makes me more excited for one book over another is uniqueness. I loved Kevin Hearne's Hounded because the main character was a druid, which I hadn't read about before. As much as I love vampires and shapeshifters, every now and then I like to read about the lesser known paranormal creatures.
ReplyDeleteI know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but that is definitely what makes me go "Yes!" Usually if the cover is eye catching, I'll buy it:)

I'll be shameless to admit that many times the art cover influences my decision, along with reviews I see online, as well as if other author's have endorsed the book. I don't mind the love triangles, creative take on lore, and squee-worthy male characters. :D That usually keeps me continuining with the series. Overall though paranormal is one of my favorite genres. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the give-away!

The plot description has to sound unique. I'm a little tired of YA that seem to use very similar parnormal species, young boy meets young girl, insta love sort of thing - i'm trying to avoid those. I do love some romance but it has to hopefully have a unique twist. Heck if there isn't any romance I'm ever fine. It just has to grab me! Something different

Sometimes the cover entices me and then the description of the book. I rely on the reviews in Goodreads and on the book blogs.
