My time at Author After Dark 2011 + Giveaway!

I've been thinking really hard the past couple of days since I got home from the Authors After Dark con., on what exactly to say and how to put into words the AWESOME, FANTASTIC, and UNBELIEVABLE time I had. This was my first time attending and it will not be my last.

When I first heard of this event, I had no clue what to expect, or exactly how it would go. I thought maybe it will be like Book Expo of America, or like one of the many signings I've been too. Boy, was I wrong! Authors After Dark is so much more up close and personal with the authors and full of lots of different things EVERYDAY! They have different type of panels, dinners, parties, etc.

One of my favorite panels was the "Guess the author by the sex scene." It was hilarious! They had asked us to write our names down on a piece of paper, along with the name of our favorite celebrity. I put my name and Paul Walker. If you know me, you know I have a huge obsession with this man lol. Anyway, they read a sex scene out loud from one of the books and used my name and Paul Walkers. I nearly died LOL. My cheeks were super bright red and let me tell you, it got hot in there pretty quick lol. My husband is so going to kill me LOL. Anyway, I attended lot's of great panels and learned a lot from them. I originally registered for this event because Lara Adrian, Larissa Ione & Alexandra Ivy were going to be there. Once I got there, I met and discovered tons of new authors. They were all super nice and some were just handing there books out without a second thought. My To Be Read pile is officially well over five hundred books.

The staff and the authors were just amazing! I had no problems at all and everyone was super helpful and willing to talk to you. The only issue I had was the hotel. We stayed at a Double Tree in Philadelphia and let me tell you, they sucked! They hung up the phone on us, were not helpful at all, were over charging guest, cancelling things left and right. The only time they were super nice and willing to help out was when we were all checking out. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, unless you want crappy service and dirty rooms all the time. I felt so bad for Stella Price and her crew because they had to deal with a lot junk thanks to them.
