Review: Deeper Than Midnight by Lara Adrian

Mass Market Paperback, 387 pages
Published June 28th 2011

At eighteen, Corinne Bishop was a beautiful, spirited young woman living a life of privilege as the adopted daughter of a wealthy family. Her world changed in an instant when she was stolen away and held prisoner by the malevolent vampire Dragos. After many years of captivity and torment, Corinne is rescued by the Order, a cadre of vampire warriors embroiled in a war against Dragos and his followers. Her innocence taken, Corinne has lost a piece of her heart as well--the one thing that gave her hope during her imprisonment, and the only thing that matters to her now that she is free.

Assigned to safeguard Corinne on her trip home is a formidable golden-eyed Breed male called Hunter. Once Dragos's most deadly assassin, Hunter now works for the Order, and he's hell-bent on making Dragos pay for his manifold sins. Bonded to Corinne by their mutual desire, Hunter will have to decide how far he'll go to end Drago's reign of evil--even if carrying out his mission means shattering Corinne's tender heart.

I loved it! Lara Adrian delivers yet again! She changed her writing style a bit in Deeper Than Midnight. You get different point of views and I really enjoyed that. I've been a big fan of Chase since Midnight Awakening and in Deeper than Midnight you get a sub-plot with Chase. I've waited a long time for his story and I am super excited for Darker After Midnight.

Deeper Than Midnight is full of action, suspense and another emotional, but great love story! Corrine was a very strong character. She didn't let her past ruin her future. And Hunter... He now has a place in my heart (actually I think I love em all lol). All he's known is how to be a warrior and kill. He's never felt any emotions and the way Adrian described his feelings for Corrine, was perfect! It was easy to picture them together.

I do feel though that Sh*t is about to hit the fan LOL! We're coming close to the end of the series and things are getting really heated for the Breed and their mates. I cannot wait to see how this series ends and where Adrian takes the story next. There isn't one book in this series I don't like. Now the wait for the next book.

5 out of 5 Stars!
