Eleven minutes passed before Delaney Maxwell was pulled from the icy waters of a Maine lake by her best friend Decker Phillips. By then her heart had stopped beating. Her brain had stopped working. She was dead. And yet she somehow defied medical precedent to come back seemingly fine
-despite the scans that showed significant brain damage. Everyone wants Delaney to be all right, but she knows she's far from normal. Pulled by strange sensations she can't control or explain, Delaney finds herself drawn to the dying. Is her altered brain now predicting death, or causing it?

Then Delaney meets Troy Varga, who recently emerged from a coma with similar abilities. At first she's reassured to find someone who understands the strangeness of her new existence, but Delaney soon discovers that Troy's motives aren't quite what she thought. Is their gift a miracle, a freak of nature-or something much more frightening?

For fans of best-sellers like Before I Fall and If I Stay, this is a fascinating and heart-rending story about love and friendship and the fine line between life and death.

          My Thoughts:

This book was really good. I have to say for a debut novel, it's a great way to break into the industry. Megan couldn't have written a better debut book. The minute I opened Fracture I was drawn in. Have you ever picked up a book and did not want to put down because of how good it is. That's how it was with Fracture. Megan didn't waste any time in bringing on the action. There's not a dull moment in this book. I'm glad I got a chance to read this.

Delaney goes out with her best friend Decker to the lake. But what was supposed to be a fun day ended in tragedy. Delaney falls into the ice and wasn't taken out until eleven minutes. The human brain can only survive about three to five minutes without oxygen before the damage begins. However Delaney was in the ice water for eleven minutes, died, then ended up in a coma and when she woke up, she wasn't the same Delaney that fell into the ice water. She was different. She started feeling like she was being pulled towards people who were able to die. And when she tried to talk about it, her parents or doctors didn't understand her. Not knowing exactly how to get a grip with everything happening her relationships with her friends and parents have started to suffer.

While trying to come to terms with all the changes, a new person Troy enters her life. Which adds more of a dilemma to it, if you ask me? Delaney just wants to get back to normal but that's becoming impossible with everything happening to her and around her. Having her best friend dating someone she isn't fond of kind of puts their relationship at edge. Her other friends treat her like she's famous for surviving all that she's been through, it continues to be hard for her. A lot more happens and I wish I can tell you more. However I don't do spoilers and I feel I've given you enough. But I promise if you pick this book up, you will NOT be disappointed. It's a fast and interesting read. This is a definite Must Buy and Must Read! 5/5 stars for sure!
