After experiencing what they think are a series of "break-ins", a family sets up security cameras around their home, only to realize that the events unfolding before them are more sinister than they seem

Thoughts:

This may come as a surprise to all but this is our very FIRST every movie review. And the reason for me "Wanda" to write this review is to inform others about the movie. I am a HUGE fan of scary movies, even though at the end I wind up scared like a little girl. I still watch them. So it comes to no surprise that I begged my boyfriend and bribed my best friend to go with me to see it.

So "Paranormal Activity 2" is suppose to be part 2 to "Paranormal Activity" released last year in 2009, but in reality it's more like a Prequel or more like this movie was happening at the same time as the other. I honestly think these movies overlap. Anyway in this movie, this family is being haunted by a Demon. It turns out that Katie (lead of PA 1) is the sister of the new lead character Kristy whose married to Dan and mother to their baby boy Hunter and stepmother to Dan's 17 year old daughter Ally.

It starts off with Kristy and Dan bringing home baby Hunter from the hospital. And within the next couple of months, Kristy started noticing things happening which had no explanation. She brought it to her husband's attention but he dismissed it. So she had the conversation with her sister (Whose is the lead in PA1) and she both stated how their family did seance.

So basically that opened up the doors to the demon haunting their family. But Kristy's sister refuse to talk any more about the haunting because the more you talk about it the more it happens. But this opened up Ally's curiosity it didn't help that Ally (the step/daughter) decides she wants to bring a Ouija board and play with it in the house. I have to say that this scene actually made EVERYONE laugh in the movie theater. But IN MY OPINION I don't know how they sell these stupid things in stores anymore. That's when things really begin to unfold and the action begins.

However the things you come to find out in this "sequel/prequel" does kinda freak you out but only if you believe in these things such as things having to do with Demons and witchcraft to that sort. But since this movie has characters related to the first movie, it actually conflicts with the first one. I think if you really want to see it and get the "theater" effect of it, go to a matinée. Or just simply wait for it to come out on cable television. If you go online, you'll find lots and lots of negative reviews about it.

But if you wanna see cabinets slamming, opening and slamming of doors, people being dragged and people being possessed then this is the movie for you. However I can honestly say that I as well as everyone else in the theater actually found this movie more humorous then scary. There was no action in the movie till like half way through and in my opinion, it wasn't enough. If I have to give this a stars rating I give this a 3 out of 5 stars but mostly for the laughs.

This a clip I found. Hopefully it works.

  1. So if you're not a fan of the 1st movie, then don't bother going to see it.
