Chasing Perfect By Susan Mallery (Wanda Lee)

The first in a brand-new series. Fool's Gold, California, is a charming community in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. There's lots to do and plenty of people to meet, especially women. There's just one problem: the men don't seem to stick around. The situation needs to be fixed, and Charity Jones may just be the one to fix it. Original.

My Review:

This is the first book I read by Susan Mallery. And I must admit, reading this one is definitely made me look into buying some of her other books for my e-reader.

Susan has a way about writing her characters so you can understand and feel exactly what they are feeling at the moment you are reading. I found myself feeling intensely the feelings she felt when she was around Josh, the butterflies she had and the way she was so nervous around him. That's pretty good writing when the author can pull you into the story and you feel like you've become the character.

I love that Susan didn't make her Character Charity go all foolishly in love without losing her senses. She held her ground at work; she worked hard and loved hard. Even at finding herself in a situation in which she wasn't expecting she still held her ground and didn't buckle. That's what you call a real woman.

Let's not forget about Josh, Who doesn't want a man whose hunky and rich? I wish I had a Josh in my life. But Josh and Charity are meant for each other. Neither one nor the other judges each other. When obstacles appear in front of them, they handled it with caution. They were there for each other and brought out the positive in one another. The scenes between them were hot!

Finally finding out the real reason behind Charity ended up in Fool's Gold was sweet. She finally found herself a real home in which she craved as a small child and most of all finding 'family". If you're a person who enjoys a book that has to do with love, challenges, over-coming obstacles and most of all just finding stability without losing character. Then this book is for you! Susan's gift for writing can bring you to Fool's Gold right along with Charity and Josh. A Definite must read!
