To me, it read like they were limiting who had access to reading books, and that was one of the factors that lead me to go with the Nook instead of the Kindle. Plus, I really like Barnes and Noble. But...I don't know what Barnes and Noble is going to gain from this. The only people who won't turn to Amazon for these exclusive books are people who are loyal customers to B&N like myself. But, I don't reckon there are too many of us to really make an impact.Jackiehttp://booksntea.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7158531286462009257.post-79138004327339363262012-02-05T10:46:54.053-05:002012-02-05T10:46:54.053-05:00You are most welcome! And...Margie, I totally agree with you on B&N.

And as for BEA, all of those tips are great, but also: bring a suitcase or a really good bag! You're going to have a lot of books to carry - or if not books, lots of free goodies - make sure you can carry it all :)

If you end up going, let us know!MamaMartinez83https://www.blogger.com/profile/16744954971552844615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7158531286462009257.post-57417559116359875672012-02-05T10:44:13.677-05:002012-02-05T10:44:13.677-05:00I totally agree with you! They need to learn how to work together with Amazon, rather than this constant fighting that doesn't benefit everyone.MamaMartinez83https://www.blogger.com/profile/16744954971552844615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7158531286462009257.post-6166666396116723172012-02-04T18:37:43.562-05:002012-02-04T18:37:43.562-05:00I had already heard about B&N and thought they...I had already heard about B&N and thought they were cutting off their nose to spite their face. If a person wants the book, they will buy it. Now they will only buy it at Amazon.

I am looking forward to Kresley and Maggie's new books as I love both of them as writers.

Thanks for the post!Sophia Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07909417504496472472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7158531286462009257.post-32987377063079787602012-02-04T12:42:27.528-05:002012-02-04T12:42:27.528-05:00Okay I don't like limiting books in any situat...Okay I don't like limiting books in any situation. I don't think this is gonna help B&N at all either. I rarely shop there. I buy online most of the time - not just from Amazon. Shooting your own foot comes to mind.

Valerie
StuckInBOoks.comValhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02649532121775064262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7158531286462009257.post-1877979005955182512012-02-04T11:47:31.394-05:002012-02-04T11:47:31.394-05:00I really don't get what B&N is trying to a...I really don't get what B&N is trying to accomplish with this, after all they've done to all the indie shops, very greedy indeed. And unfortunately, unless I order online from someone else, B&N is the closest 'real' bookstore to me. We have a warehouse, but they don't have a huge selection of newbies... sigh...
I am thinking of going to BEA this year! I live on Long Island, so I'm hoping to just drive in or hop on the train, but I can only go for one day - it will be my first time! Any suggestions or tips would be great! So far, I know to wear comfy shoes, be super polite and don't go in expecting anything :) Hope to see you there!Bumbles and Fairy-Taleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01689440931764637548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7158531286462009257.post-64256622120621987342012-02-04T11:00:38.119-05:002012-02-04T11:00:38.119-05:00I think they lost their minds! The internet is now...I think they lost their minds! The internet is now and the future. It doesn't make any sense. They are acting like a child having a tantrum. Karma has come full circle on them. They nearly exterminated the independent book shops. And now the internet threatens their existence. *shakes head* I'll shop at Books-A-Million at times but rarely. I won't shop at Barnes & Noble because they cost to much.SacredmOOnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11585050950466984457noreply@blogger.com
