I cannot put into words how much I freaking ADORE this book. It has everything I LOVE in a young adult novel. Great characters, amazing plot, lots of action, betrayal, twist and turns with almost every page, it's out of this world GOOD!
Mare's world is brutal. That is the only way I can describe it. She hasn't lived a great life. She struggles to stay out of the Silver Bloods way and survive, but at the same time she doesn't coward away from much. Certain events lead her to an encounter with a Silver that forever changes her life.
The first couple of chapters were great, but the story really gets good at Chapter five. That is where it all falls apart for Mare. Or should I say falls together?
At the Silver court she discovers that she isn't just an ordinary Red Blood after all. She actually has power of her own. Which comes as a huge shock to the Silver's because Reds aren't supposed to have any power at all. Not sure what to do with themselves, the Silver royal family throws her into a dress, concocts a story about her past life, and even betroths her to their son, Maven. After all, why waste someone with such a powerful gift?
I have to stop there because I am just getting carried away and I might giveaway something that I shouldn’t. I absolutely love this book!
RED QUEEN is definitely one of my top favorite/must read of 2015! The best part? It’s out today! I say buy it, and get lost inside Mare’s world, then come back to this post and rave about it with me. I have to find someone who loves it just as much I do!!!
There is a romance, but it isn’t like any romance you’ve read in ANY young adult novel out today. You are pulled in so many different directions trying to SEE what Mare see’s, and feel what she feels. Victoria Aveyard will fill you with so many different emotions with each page you won’t know what to do with yourself when done reading.
A fantastic, definite GOOD CHOICE for READING!
