Let's Talk About The Cover
If you've read my past reviews on this trilogy, you'll realize that I've never been a huge fan of these particular book covers. They were always semi-cheesy and seemed really young for the content you'd get inside. But this cover changes all of that completely. I think it is stunning, poignant (once you read the book) and makes a lot of sense when you think about Sera's journey.
Looking at all three covers side by side (see below), you can see that this is the first cover where Seraphina (aka Sera) seems confident, determined and poised to take on the world on her own. Even though you can't see her face, you just know that she's ready to kick some ass!

The End of an Epic Adventure
I think what will make me the saddest about this trilogy is that all of our time travel must come to an end. One of the most fantastic (and drool-worthy) parts of these stories is the fact that Sera and all of her classmates are mandated to dress up in time-appropriate clothing and "wander" to all these different time periods that are beautifully written. Trust me. when you work all day in New York City, these books are the greatest escape!
I can honestly say that I will miss our characters' time-traveling adventures and all the ways they should have messed with the time travel continuum but conviniently didn't, LOL

The Story
In my opinion, Seeing Light was better than Protecting Truth, but still not as good as Wanderdust. Although, it could be that Wanderdust was so new and fascinating that nothing would have ever compared.
The story focused on Sera and her ability to get over tragedy after tragedy that has befallen her in the previous two books. She also has to deal with the fact that she has been constantly lied to by those closest to her. And on top of all that, she doesn't even know if she is actually in love with her protector, Bishop, or if that's just the way she has been programmed to feel. Her character goes through so much change and growth in this one book, that you almost want to tell her to just give up! It's so much for one person to bear!
But Sera never gives up -- and this is what is so fantastic about her character. She continues to defy the odds by acting in ways that no one would ever think of and remaining true to herself no matter what obstacles stand in her way. When the situation seems sure to be hopeless, you'll look around and find that Sera has found the only spark of light left -- the only glimmer of hope -- and she will use that to turn the entire situation on its head. It's pretty great :)

My Only Critique
I found this novel to be the most predictable of them all. I could see what was coming before we got there and I think that bothered me more than it should have. But on the other hand, it could be that I knew what was coming because I knew Sera as a character so well. I knew how she would react in certain situations.

This entire trilogy has been such fun to read and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a good read, a great escape, stunning visuals and a passionate heroine.

5 out of 5 stars
