Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

Wait For You was A-W-E-S-O-M-E.

I am a big fan of Armentrout's work and pretty much read anything she puts out, but -- being honest here -- this is my first time reading her work under J. Lynn. I know... where the heck have I been? Apparently out of the loop until now.

Wait For You will make you laugh, fall in love, fall out of love, angry, frustrated, and blushing all at once. Hands down Armentrout creates some very lovable and believable characters. I think that is what draws me so much to her books. Her characters are so easy to relate to. There is always something in one of her characters that remind me of myself.

Avery has been through hell. All she wants is to start a new life, one where her past is far, far behind her, and one where no one knows about it. She's doing good for a while and slowly starts to get the hang of things, but then Cam enters her life and flips it all upside down. She has no clue which way to go.

Cam is just hmm, mmm good. He was cocky, but not overly done. His cockiness was actually kind of fun,  which made him ten times more attractive. Yes, I am talking about a fictional character like he were real. Let's just be happy he isn't. I might go all psycho on Avery. He was hilarious and his character did not change at all throughout the book. He remained the same from beginning to end.

Wait For You does cover a very touchy subject. I did feel that one part of the story was just to fluffy for the type of situation it was, but it wasn't something that ultimately can ruin the book. It didn't for me. I just wish it was a bit more intense. It sucks I can't really share what that is without spoiling something MAJOR, but I thought to myself that it was just too soft and needed just a tad more.

I feel like I am jumping all over the place with this review, but I liked it so much I want to cover everything!

The chemistry between Cam and Avery has to be one of my favorites out of all Armentrout's Books. Not sure if it's because Wait For You is a bit more mature than her YA stuff, or if it's just that freaking amazing. I'd say that freaking amazing.

I do have some slight issues, though. I am not a BIG FAN of relationships going back and forth. It seems this is a big thing in books, but I think once or twice is enough, anymore than that just frustrates me to no end. I understand why Avery constantly felt the need to pull away, but after the second time I wanted to slap her. End of rant. LOL!

I don't think I need to say how much I recommend this book. It's pretty obvious you should read it. :)

4.5 out of 5 Stars!

  21. I am following JLA's blog tour for this one and I'm always afraid when I read the reviews because I think some of them give away too much of the book, but your review was absolutely perfect. I am reading it right now and I agree with you on your opinions. How can you not love Cam? Avery, well she is a bit annoying, but she is a good balance to the rest of the characters. And then there is Jacob and Brit. These two are like the perfect set of friends. I think Jacob is absolutely hilarious and the lines that come out of his mouth are absolute brilliance on the authors part. I'm only halfway through the book and I just wish I could find more time in my day to finish reading it. I love, love the turtle charm bracelet. It's like wearing a little reminder of Cam. Thanks for being a stop on the tour and thanks for not writing any spoilers in your review. sbereza22(at)gmail(dot)com
