Parker Shelton pretty much has the perfect life. She’s on her way to becoming valedictorian at Hundred Oaks High, she’s made the all-star softball team, and she has plenty of friends. Then her mother’s scandal rocks their small town and suddenly no one will talk to her.

Now Parker wants a new life.

So she quits softball. Drops twenty pounds. And she figures why kiss one guy when she can kiss three? Or four. Why limit herself to high school boys when the majorly cute new baseball coach seems especially flirty?

But how far is too far before she loses herself completely?

After reading Catching Jordan, I was a little worried that Stealing Parker wouldn’t be as good. I am happy to say that it was actually REALLY good and I enjoyed a lot.

What I like the most about Miranda’s books are her characters. I am very big on characters and I find that I can easily relate to her characters in more than one way. Miranda’s characters are very realistic. I liked the events that took place and the suspense of waiting for everything to hit the fan and Parker’s world to be completely turned into one big ball of DISASTER. I enjoyed Parker’s relationship a lot with the baseball coach, but I wasn’t big on how he began to treat her once things got hot and heavy. It became very clear to me that it was more of the excitement that he liked than actually Parker. I think this was Kenneally’s intention, though, so I quickly got over it. Parker was up and down for me, but this wasn’t a bad thing. You can tell she was a bit torn. She didn’t really know what to do with herself.

The only thing I would have liked is that the book was a bit longer. I felt a little cheated with the way it ended. I wanted more, and without giving any spoilers, I wanted to know what happened to Parker. A new door opened in her life and all she had to do was walk through it. I thought the story was heading in that direction, but then it ended and felt sort of like a cliffhanger. I would definitely like more to Parker’s story.

Those who read and loved Catching Jordan, get ready because you’re in for another ride! I cannot wait for her next book, THINGS I CAN'T FORGET.

4 out of 5 stars!

  6. Thanks for the great review! It sounds like you really enjoyed the book. I too enjoy suspenseful books and realistic characters in the stories that I read. At least you know that the ending was a cliffhanger because the author wants to continue the story as a series.

  7. This book reminds me of "Smashed" by Lisa Luedeke about a girl who loses herself. I might just read this one!
