Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me? No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

Onyx is a great sequel to Obsidian. I just cannot get enough of this world or these characters, particularly Daemon Black.

Onyx is filled with just as much humor, romance, and twist as Obsidian was. You can easily read it in one sitting, and once you’re done, you’ll want to re-read it again. I have an issue with sequels lately because lately some of them feel like the author just threw the book together last minute, but with Onyx, that wasn’t the case. It felt almost like Jennifer already had it written, but decided to break the book into parts.

I really liked where she took the story and feel that both Katy and Daemon’s character have grown a lot. I wasn’t sure what to expect to be honest, but I can say that I am in love with them all over again, only this love has tripled. Daemon is just hot in every way. I don’t have to sit here and rant on how he is one of my favorite fictional male characters. Katy is very relatable and I can easily put myself in her shoes. I think this is the main reason why I love her so much. She could be anyone we know in real life.

I did find that certain aspects of the story were predictable, but there were also a lot of things I didn't see coming. I was definitely at the edge of my seat. I was so antsy and couldn’t wait to get to the ending to find out what was going to happen. Jennifer knows when to reveal just enough to keep you glued to the pages and highly entertained. She really has a talent for entertaining her readers. She doesn’t waste her time recapping the first book in every chapter, and nor does she make you wait for the story to really pick up.

I loved it, and love where things are going and how close Daemon and Katy get in this book. I cannot wait for the next in the series! If you loved Obsidian, then I don’t really need to tell you how much you’re going to love Onyx. It’s just awesome!

4.5 out of 5 Stars!

  2. LOVE THIS BOOK!!! I got it a week before the release day, which was nice because I read it in like a few hours! It's such a great book. I don't know how Jennifer does it. I don't think it can get better than this, but watch, Opal is going to blow us away. Thanks for the review!!!

  4. I can't wait to read Onyx. I tend to wait until there are at least two books released before I start reading a series because I hate to wait so long between books. I have heard so many good things about Obsidian and already the buzz for Onyx has been great.
