Debbie's Book Expo America Experience

My BEA (Book Expo America) experience

So this was my first year at BEA and when first getting there I was a bit overwhelmed. I mean the line was so long and there was so much to do and see. I was not even sure if I was in the right place. While waiting in line for the doors to open I go to see a street team in action getting ready to pass out masks to those of us enter to promote Melissa Marr’s Carnival of Souls.

The first booth I went to when I got in was Disney, seemed like a good spot since everyone stopped there. People acted like they were giving 100 bills away! So many people were pushing and fighting for books. I just waited until it was my turn and managed to snag ever book they gave away and a cool bag too!

After that it was off to Ellora’s Cave to get some adult books are me and I got to see some hot men and even meet Ashlyn Chase who signed her book Love Cuffs for me. I loved the book and review will be coming soon.

The rest of the day was amazing as I got a ton of books and met some really people, some were fellow bloggers and some were bookstore owners, I even meet a really sweet librarian who had a list of wish list books for all the children who come to her dept.

Day 2 was a lot of fun and I got to meet some really cool famous people as you will see in the pictures below. Day two I focused on autograph signings and spent a good part of the day in line however I still managed to get a good amount of books.

By Day 3 I was so beat, I almost did not go but so glad I did. I was much more selective in what books I got and even managed to get more signed copies of books and focused a lot more in just taking the whole experience in. I even got to meet Sylvia Day and got a signed copy of her new book Bared To You.

I am looking forward to next year's BEA! Until then I have a ton of books to read and many reviews to come.....

  4. Great post! I need to get mine up too. Maybe tomorrow or next week. I stayed in NYC till yesterday, and so am still recovering! I have to go pick up my mail, hoping my box of books made it home as unscathed as possible!

  5. Wooooow! Those are some seriously long lines! I wonder what the average wait time in the lines are. Still, it looks like BEA is a blast. And you made out like a bandit. Look at all that loot! I think you'll be in bookish bliss for quite a while.
