Review: Storm By Brigid Kemmerer

Storm (Elemental, #1)Storm by Brigid Kemmer
Published April 24th 2012 by Kensington

Earth, Fire, Air, Water – they have more power than you dream.

Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her, Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys—all the ones she doesn't want. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water—just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They’re powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life’s at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who’s hiding the most dangerous truth of all.

          My Review:

This review is a little hard for me to write since the concept behind Storm was a first for me. All four brothers are all elements; Earth, Water, Wind & Fire. I've never read a book about elements. Though I must say the book was interesting, it just didn't grab me enough to say, I want to continue this series.

The elemental characters were all written well and some can relate to the sibling rivalry in this novel. These four brothers all have their own issues and dilemmas. But this story focuses mostly on Chris. During an altercation with some rivals, Chris found himself being rescued by a classmate of his named Becca. And that's basically where the story begins. Becca was a bit boring for me. She didn't pique my interest at all. Though, Becca didn't do it for me, she ended up with two guys that were fighting for her attention. So this sort of "love triangle" kept me interested.

Although I didn't get into this story as much as I hoped that's mostly because I'm not familiar with elements and that's kind of branching out of my typical genre. I do however recommend this book to those who enjoy books with elements. I, personally give this book a 3 stars because it did keep me interested enough to finish it. For those who are going to read it, I hope you enjoy it better than I did.

    1. You're absolutely right Sophia. My friends LOVED this novel. I guess I'm not into the whole elements of whatever. Overall the story was good. But because I'm not into that kind of paranormal, it didn't grab me. I hope you enjoy it when you read it.
