You know, you'd be so surprised when you compare how lame this book sounds in its description vs. how good it actually is! I seriously read it in the blink of an eye.

It's quite rare for a Y.A. mystery novel to get inside my bookshelf. Not because I have anything against them, but simply because I feel there are very few actually written out there - let alone any that are good. I mean, let's face it - either you know how the mystery's going to end by page 10, or the solution is so far-fetched that you get angry and want to toss the book into a bonfire. Sound familiar?

Well, not Jill Hathaway's book. This novel not only had a killer story line (no pun intended), but the mystery had me completely baffled. It did exactly what it was supposed to - had me suspicious of every single character. It was awesome, and so gratifying to figure out who-dun-it in the end.

Now, back to the story line - it sounds weird, I know. A girl named Vee faints whenever she touches something that belongs to someone else. And when she faints, she "slides" into that person's mind and watches whatever they're doing at the time. She's just an observer, though, and no one knows her secret.

Throughout the story, you see Vee's "slide" as both a gift and a curse - how it torments her (like fainting while you're about to kiss someone) and helps her (like helping her solve a crime). I thought this book was creative, fun and thrilling.
