Destiny Blog Tour: Guest Post & Giveaway w/ Heather White.

When I write a story, the first thing I do is create my characters. Without them, there obviously wouldn’t be a story!

In the beginning, I ALWAYS have my characters planned out perfectly, down to their hair color, favorite song and of course their love interest. However, I have recently learned: MY CHARACTERS NEVER LISTEN TO ME! They seriously take on their own role and make their own rules. A lot of times, they surprise me. Their reactions are usually different than what I “planned”, and they twist the story in different directions than I could have ever thought. I know it sounds crazy, but my characters truly come to life. They write their own story.

It is fun putting them into certain situations and seeing how they react, and how they get out of the “mess”. Like sometimes I throw in a new character, just to see their reaction, and see how they interact… I like that my characters come to life for me. If they didn’t, writing wouldn’t be half as fun.

When I write, I can literally see the scene playing out in my head. I can see the characters body movements, and hear their “sarcasm”. I love seeing how the story comes together as I write, and how my characters grown. For example: Karlie. From When Destiny Knocks to When Destiny Strikes, she has grown SO MUCH, and she has learned so much. I feel like I’m getting to watch her grow up, and I love it!

I can honestly say that I love my job, and I am so passionate about what I do. I plan to write forever, maybe longer ;)

GIVEAWAY:

ONE eCopy of When Destiny Strikes to one lucky commenter. Just leave a meaningful comment below with your email address. :-)

Now that Karlie has received her full powers, things are going to be great... right?

Karlie's number one priority is to kill Serenity - after all she deserves it for trying to kill Alex. Though it isn't as easy as it sounds. Serenity teams up with demons to create an army to destroy Karlie.

On top of that, there are a ton of zombies, everywhere... And a new angel in town, who seems more like a demon... And of course, a shape shifter dragon! It's all weird, even for Karlie.

With friends turning against friends, it seems as though her life got a whole lot more complicated.

About the Author:

I am a returning resident to Arkansas. I just migrated south from Saint Louis, MO with my husband. We have a married a year. :)

I love to write. I have been writing since I was a kid - literally. I decided in the 2nd grade I would write a book. I wrote lots of short stories and poems... And did I mention I wrote over 200 songs? (Yeah, I'm a musician too - guitar, bass, drums and vocals). So I wrote my very first novel at the ripe age of 14... My Mom still has it :-/. OK, so maybe it wasn't my best work, but I had a LOT of fun writing it!

When I'm not writing, I am normally reading. I am also a caffeine addict... Dr. Pepper and NOS (the energy drink) are my drugs of choice :)

  6. This sounds like some double- or triple-crossing going on here. And . . zombies and a shape-shifting dragon! What more exciting elements can you ask for? I can't wait to see how they all hold together. Thanks for that chance.
