Review: Perception by Kim Harrington

When you can see things others can't, what do you do when someone's watching you?

Everybody knows about Clarity "Clare" Fern. She's the psychic girl in school, the one who can place her hands on something and see hidden visions from the past.

Only Clare would rather not be a celebrity. She prefers hanging back, observing. Her gift is not a game to her.

But then someone starts playing with her head . . . and heart. Messages and gifts from a secret admirer crop up everywhere Clare turns. Could they be from Gabriel, the gorgeous boy who gets Clare's pulse racing? Or from Justin, Clare's hopeful ex-boyfriend who'd do anything to win her back?

One thing is certain. Clare needs to solve this mystery, and soon. Because the messages are becoming sinister, and a girl in town has suddenly disappeared.

This series is so much fun to read! I find that Kim Harrington's writing is very simple and easy to follow. I really liked the first book in the series and Perception is just as good.

Clarity and her family are trying to start over and continue as if things never happened. Only now, Clarity finds herself hanging with the popular crowd, and her brother barely leaves his bedroom. Her mother seems to be the only person whose life hasn't been thrown off track. To top it off Clarity has two hot guys after her heart. No way are things going back to normal for her. I think Clarity's gift to be able to see things whenever she touches an item is so cool. I would love to get something really old from the fifteen hundreds and see who has touched it and learn the story behind it. How cool would that be?

If you haven't read Clarity, I think you should, and then pick up Perception. Even though its two different plots, the first book introduces you to Clarity and her family and helps you understand how their world works. This is a series that isn't complicated and very entertaining. I really hope there will be a third one. I love how each book continues Clarity's story, but with different events taking place.

4 out of 5 Stars!

    1. HI Ame! That was my goal! I actually thought I didn't add enough to my review, but a friend said it was fine. I didn't want to take away from it, but I also felt I didn't do it justice haha. I am glad my point still got through.

    1. To me the love triangle really wasn't that bad. I am not a fan of love triangles at all. In Perception there wasn't a whole lot of back and forth. I could deal with it LOL

  16. I have had Clarity on my "To-Read" list for a while now, but I haven't gotten my hands on a copy yet. I think now I will try harder to get one. I have been reading a lot of books with complicated, almost depressing plots lately. It would be a nice change of pace to go for something a little more on the lighter side! Thanks for your review!

  25. I enjoyed the first book and it sounds like this book continues on very well from that read. I really enjoyed Clare as a character. Not sure how I feel about a love triangle - though Justin did seem to step up in the last book...yeah, I'll read no matter what.

  35. Hmmm, I'm a little skeptical of the emphasis put on the simplicity of the series, but I still really, really want to read it. I've heard so much great buzz about it. The Perception cover is amazing, way better than Clarity's.

  39. Good review I did like Clarity but wasn't sold on Gabriel as her new love interest he didnt accept her for what she is but the ex cheated on her with a girl she hates so tough call but i think I still will be with the ex over some guy that hates what she does for personal reasons. So Im interested to see how this playes out in this book.
